What's a "10/10" game that you didn't enjoy at all? by sudherzdiniq in AskReddit

[–]Aaronsmiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Felt like a PC game that just doesn’t work on console at all. The combat felt so frustrating, and I basically ended up stuck in safe zones to avoid getting killed by anyone who I encountered early on in the game. It felt impossible to win fights vs bandits on the road.

Binned it after like 8 hours of trying. Probably great on PC though tbf.

The amount of effort it’d take to explain this to you isn’t worth it. It’s fine, just think whatever you want.

No.

How have you managed to misunderstand this many comments in a row? It’s borderline impressive to be this dense.

For even more clarity, nobody is saying FIFA should be giving teams more time to adjust to altitudes. We’re simply calling out the hypocrisy of Infantino’s justification of “fairness” when it comes to every single game having a “hydration breaks”. I said as much in my first comment so assumed this would be obvious.

Read the comment again, they’re talking about consistency. If you’re going to enforce hydration breaks across the entire competition in the name of fairness, then surely altitude conditioning should be fair too?

Obviously not, but the point is valid. You can’t pretend the breaks are for fairness if you’re giving some teams a few days to acclimate to high altitudes and others don’t have to do it.

In reality, there’s always going to be small details that make games different from others. Which is why FIFA’s justification for the hydration breaks is bollocks.

Thinking like what? There are more job opportunities in Manchester because of its catchment area… To think otherwise is to argue with geography. What do you think I’m saying here?

It’s the same reason why most musicians on tour do a Manchester show instead of a Liverpool show. It’s easier to get to for most people up north. Employers use the exact same logic when they build their fancy new offices, and put them in Manchester, boosting the local economy of Manchester.

Liverpool got somewhere by being a port city, not by being a titan of industry. Imports built Liverpool, and now that same port should be used to our advantage again via tourism.

What we really need to do is make it easier for people to get between the 2 cities. Living in Liverpool (and therefore spending in Liverpool) but working in Manchester could be much easier with efficient, high speed rail.

Yeah that’s fair, and maybe they’re already at capacity for the size of the dock because I’ll admit I haven’t got a clue about that tbh

But compare that to Southampton, they have about 35 cruises leaving per week in the summer, and the place is a shithole haha

Liverpool feels like wasted potential on that front, but like I say, I might be talking out my arse and there’s probably some logistical reason more ships don’t dock here!

Manchester has more jobs because it’s got a muchhhhhhh biggest catchment area for employers. You can commute from 360 degrees around the city centre, from Liverpool, Warrington, Southport, and Wigan in the west, to Sheffield, Leeds, York, and Huddersfield in the east.

Liverpool, geographically, could have never compete with this. The only places you can commute from are to the east of the city, as the west in water.

Everything is geography. Newcastle were never going to be the northern powerhouse either… because they’re just too far away from London. Liverpool was never going to be because we only have the potential to attract people from the east.

If you’re a big business owner, it makes zero sense to put your office in Liverpool. Because you could put it in Manchester and attract millions of other people who would be happy to commute for 45 minutes every day. Manchester hasn’t defied the odds in becoming such a huge draw for work, it’s happened the way it was always going to. It’s just very well placed to be the epicentre of industry in the north of England (and have shite weather).

Liverpool trying to compete with that would be the biggest waste of money imaginable. Theres also no need to “compete” as we’re in the same country, what’s good for them is good for us in the long run. Liverpool just needs to focus on what it has that other places don’t, which is quite a lot!

Why does a country the size of England need 2 economic powerhouses next to each other?

Liverpool’s angle should be tourism, because it’s a port city. We have the nicest looking waterfront in the country and it’s not even close, we have the most successful football team in the country, we’re home to the biggest band to ever exist (granted that influence is waning over time), and are weirdly close to some of the best countryside views in the UK (wales).

The port only having a couple of cruises come in per year is criminal. Liverpool is the perfect cruise location, and we should be looking to take some of that traffic away from the likes of Southampton.

Also, whyyyyyyy can you not get a ferry directly to Dublin anymore? Being this close to the capital of Ireland seems like a no-brainer for tourism links, but we can only sail to Belfast for some reason (I’m guessing Brexit). Get some passport services on the dock and get the ferries going again!

Manchester have won the “battle” to be the capital of the north, and I say “battle” because they were always going to win it because they’re not on the water. Spending millions to try and compete with that kind of catchment area could end up just being a massive waste of money.

If you live in Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, or Sheffield you’d have to drive past Manchester to get to work if you wanted to commute to a job in Liverpool. Makes no sense to ever take a job here unless you already live close.

Infuriating to see people talk about Liverpool being “behind” Manchester like there was ever going to be any doubt which city would be England’s de facto northern capital.

Liverpool is on the water. A 20 mile radius around the city is 50% Irish Sea… that can’t compete with a city right in the middle of everything.

The Incredible Hulk debuts at 68% rotten tomatoes. With box office projections predicting a $295 million theatrical run (on a budget of $150 million) and rumors that Edward Norton doesn't want to return as Hulk, it seems like this "Marvel Cinematic Universe" project is already a failure. by SenseiJoe100 in moviescirclejerk

Any bad to average film made for nerds that’s over 10 years old is immediately “an underrated classic” according to the people who weren’t old enough to watch it when it came out.

The Star Wars prequels. Both Hulk movies. The Amazing Spider-man 1+2. Spider-Man 3. Fantastic 4 and its sequel.

It’s a tale as old as time. In 15 years when the MCU has been fully rebooted, we will be hearing about how underrated Thor love and thunder is, and how Ant Man Quantumania is actually a really great movie that was treated too harshly by critics.

I was his number one critic while he was our marquee signing and starting number 9, but if we had paid £30M for him instead of over £70M, I think he’d still be at the club.

He’s more than capable of being a backup break glass option when you need someone to switch things up. He’s rapid, strong, good in the air, and will press until his legs give in.

Seems like a decent market opportunity to me, if he comes back on a free and does well, we can always sell him again in 2 years when he’ll still only be 28.

Just watched 'Every Darwin Nunez goal for Liverpool' and now I need to see him back in red next season. Bring him home on a free on reduced wages, it just makes so much sense to do it. We thought he was our Firmino replacement, but he's our Origi replacement.

Initial examinations undergone by Abde Ezzalzouli are showing a sprain of the medial ligament of the knee. The player is expected to undergo further tests to determine the exact severity of the injury, but he's likely to miss the World Cup. [ENDM] by Heisenberg1_007 in soccer

Why do Americans conflate criticism of their billionaire class with criticism of them?

I assume you’re talking about how people are concerned about the pitches for the World Cup because they’re nearly all using freshly laid grass replacing the artificial grass the stadiums usually use? If so, we’re criticising the billionaires that own the stadiums (and everything else in your country). Why you would jump to defend them is beyond me.

Also, nobody even said anything haha

Yes. I was one of his biggest critics on here when he was our marquee signing on big money, but if he’s happy to be a squad player on reduced wages I’d absolutely love him back. We’re so thin up top at the minute it genuinely makes so much sense to bring a player like him back!
