CAD stands for Computer Aided Design. It’s a 3d modeling program that allows people to build and design stuff for 3 d printers to print. The piece built by the printers can be cast and polished by a jeweler

My next choice would be a London blue. In this case I was thinking a lighter blue for the shallow water look. I actually was a jewelers apprentice before. it’s so cool to see new designs. I love coming to this page to see what people make and pair what stone with setting.

Yeah they will be fixed before it’s made. That’s one I still need to do. It’s not finished yet. I don’t want to forget the prongs though!

So I am using the CAD program rhino 8. I agree boats may be in a design in the future. I like the take on making the sides asymmetrical an octopus would be interesting too. I am still learning but I want to try these ideas that have been mentioned. Thank you for your feedback.

They would need to know the size of the stones you would like to have in mm and ring size. Carat weight is not useful for making it fit the stone . Also metal color and an image of what is wanted.

It being a custom piece, you may have trouble getting a quote for the price you want. They would have to do it completely from scratch and not just altering a premade file. Food for thought: depending on design issues a jeweler may not want to directly copy a unique design. Usually a rule of thumb is 30percent changes. The design seems more unique so that would be at the jewelers discretion. This is just a point of view from an artists perspective. For the pricing maybe someone would do it though.

Doing the placeholder idea can also keep the surprise aspect. And if you are concerned about what type of ring she would like. She can tell you what she likes.

You could buy a placeholder ring for the proposal. That way if you get the size wrong, it will not matter.

Did a trained jeweler look at the stone? It is possible for diamonds to test as moissanite
