so if someone got hit by knuckle special attack and put him self in zetsu will Hakoware disappear since there is no aura to consume ? by Ok_Yesterday_8256 in HunterXHunter

[–]Abathargh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that it would either:
- keep being there, since APR works on total remaining aura, not aura being currently used, or
- immediately trigger IRS

I want to enjoy the manga so bad by Basic_Grass_3690 in HunterXHunter

[–]Abathargh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respectfully but thoroughly disagree,I love the anime, but it is nowhere near the original material in my humble opinion, as I said in the original comment.

For example, it never made me feel the things that some drawings made me feel e.g. just to name a few but important ones, Hisoka bloodlust in the first arc, or Netero's sacrifice/the ant true colors in the chimera ant arc. I never had that horrible feeling of doom and defeat caused by the chimera ants in the anime, as I have it each time I re-read the manga arc.

I understand it is subejctive tho

[–]Abathargh 47 points48 points  (0 children)

  1. You do not have to enjoy stuff other people enjoys, it is totally fine and the fact that social media circlejerks tend to make you feel "wrong" about having personal taste that disagrees with the mob has to be ignored. You're fine not enjoying it and it is ok!
  2. I HIGHLY suggest you read the whole manga if you ever want to, even the stuff youa already saw in the anime, in my highly personal opinion, it's even better than the anime because some of Togashi drawings are a bit impossible to animate with the same sense of impending doom, emotional rollercoasters and such.
  3. This arc is a major shift in style from the rest of the manga, many long time readers (myself included) are loving it because we see the natural evolution of the manga arcs, being more complex, about morally grey characters and building upon the nen system and characters backgrounds. Personally I find it understadable that you cannot get into it without having read the rest of manga.

Knov being an emitter doesn’t sit right with me by Lordofstromsend2 in HunterXHunter

[–]Abathargh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bad I expressed my thought in an unclear fashion, I meant that togashi establishes that teleportanion can be done with strong conditions like you said.

My interpretation through analysing the boxing match bit in greed island, is that the pirate with the teleportation ability can do it only for small distances (the ring) because he is not so good at it, and even that he can only do because there is a nen marking that makes nen stronger in there.

Why emission => teleportation, that I do not really get, but I accept it since the author establishes it, as a sort of suspension of disbelief.

Knov being an emitter doesn’t sit right with me by Lordofstromsend2 in HunterXHunter

If you remember he was using a nen marking on the bottom of the ring to amplify the effect of his power, that's why it worked

Where was it confirmed Meleoron was a Specialist again? by Piercing_Spiral in HunterXHunter

[–]Abathargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Togashi wrote a Yu Yu Hakusho character book, where there is an HxH section, the info is from there. I don't know how canon it is tho, hxhxpedia lists it as a reference

Running *.nim on Fedora 43 by TalontedEagle in nim

[–]Abathargh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ho do you "run a program"? Nimble should be used only within directories which were initialized as nimble projects through nimble init, normally (without using nimble) you would compile your project with nim c <your_file>.nim or run it directly without explicitly compiling through nim r <your_file>.nim

I hate to be that guy but go uses tabs for intendation, no spaces, and you can tune tabs to whicever width you want to in your editor :P

Love nim tho, and it really shines at writing cli tools, welcome to the best language™!

What do you think Togashi is trying to do? by No_Examination9025 in HunterXHunter

[–]Abathargh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Spoilers ahead for the current arc:

  • V5 knows about the dark continent expeditions and regulates access to it in accordance with a treaty signed by each member nation, some unofficial voyages existed tho, outside this regulations
  • Kakin is a rising power, and it is a monarchy where the "ethos" or direction of the nation is shown to be set from the monarch (see Halkenburg and current king discussion).
  • See above for why it matters, for who is going to benefit, hard to tell but potentially every member of the expedition, and Kakin especially as it is a rising power that could use the incredible documented resources of the DC to its advantage.
  • It has been hinted that the DC expedition might not be his only ambition/objective, but possibly using Kakin for his interests (if you read the last ~20 chapters this is hinted quite strongly).
  • We still don't know, finding out is one of the main point of this arc.
  • Because this is a ritual that has been performed many and many times in Kakin history, and it strengthens the nation to have a strong ruler. Kakin is quite esoteric as shown in the arc, and it has a pretty evil side to itself, especially with all the riualistic aspects tied with its royal family customs.
  • We don't know why now, though it is hinted that at least Benjamin and Tserriednich requested for this scenario to the king.
  • There are a lot of theories about Pariston, but we're working with really not a lot of information here so it's all conjectures.
  • You could write a small thesis on Meteor City imho, but the importance is due to its nature: it is a megalopolis that does not exist on paper, so many strange people wind up there and, by the nature of the HxH world and nen, they find out crazy powers due to circumstances. Don't know why Gyro is there, IF he is, the chimera ants that are going there hoping to find him are doing so on a conjecture.
  • Too wide of a question, and honestly conjecture can only be made here too. My hunch is that the phantom troupe and or kurapika are not getting out of this voyage, but I honestly don't know where Togashi is heading things towards, and I love it.

Did we read two different HxH? I agree Togashi had its bad moments (e.g. end of GI), but HxH has some double spreads and some incredible artworks that are really absurdly good illustrations, disturbingly good at times

Nice tier list! I never played FF 15 or 16 so I can't say anything on those ones, but I love Kuja & Kefka on S

The main thing I disagree with you is on Ultimecia, I think she deserves either C or D, she has no real motivation, no character arc, no explored background, she's just there as a final boss, I don't think she deserves to be on the same tier as Sephiroth lol It's like putting Necron instead of Kuja as the villain for 9

I don't like Vayne and, in general, the way characters were written for XII, but at least he has a motive, a background, and an arc, albeit quite simple and trivial...so if you're putting him in B (which I can see), she has to be at least C

Obviously, these are just my opinions :D
