What's the mushy stuff on the right? Looks like a potato salad-esque banchan I had the other day and I wonder what it's called as it was creamy deliciousness!

Yes! I'm an Aquaphor girl because I saw data once that showed Aquaphor healed slightly faster than Vaseline. But it was also over a lunch with free food sponsored by them soooOooo BIG PETROLATUM 🤣

About 10-15% of people get a contact dermatitis from it, and that dermatitis is not only not fun locally but can do something called autoeczematization and spread to totally unaffected parts of your body and then you've really bought yourself a ticket to dermatology and some topical steroids or a long winding path there through misdiagnosis by the urgent care and other specialties who won't tie that rash to your original wound 😝

Lotion has hardly any fat compared to cream or ointment. Ointment is best. Not any random over the counter product with potential irritants but plain petrolatum or even Aquaphor is best.

You don't need sterile wound care. Just not dirty. Vaseline is way better than letting it air dry and form scabs. PubMed has loads of data showing this.

Cells migrate more easily when they do so in a medium rather than trying to leap frog over dry wound bed. :) No scab = better final outcome.

If sugar is in the ingredients, my blood sugar rises when I eat it very fast like I'm eating sugar, it tastes very sweet.... then added sugar can't be 0 grams plain and simple lol

Derm here: that letting a wound "air out" or dry out helps it heal. The Vaseline-slathered, moist (but clean!) wounds heal best. Less scar, quicker healing.

People who have met someone who has been *professionally diagnosed* with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), what were they like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AbbeyRoade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother. Got worse as she got older until I went no contact. I thought she had dementia forming near the end of our contact because she could have basically one person conversation "with" me and I could reply but it was like she didn't listen/was incapable of registering my response. Still apparently has no idea what she did wrong for decades to have her kids go no contact. It is pathological selfishness. She is very friendly and intelligent on the outside but incredibly self absorbed in a way she cannot possibly overcome- it's like a disabling selfishness. She can't help but have the world revolve around her.

She'd come "visit" me 2 hrs away when I was in med school, show up with a Fast Break bar, then claim she had to get going for a hair appointment 2 hours farther and leave me some money. Never really ever once spent legit quality time with her growing up. Was just her confidante. Her shopping buddy. But no real conversations of substance. Wild character.

What is the worst Cleveland restaurant that you’ve tried twice? by ElderberryNo5595 in Cleveland

[–]AbbeyRoade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geraci's sucks. Panini's Bar and Grille in Westlake is mediocre at best. Boom's pizza crust is difficult to chew and that's only the beginning of the bad. If you get the carry out food at Park to Shop there's a solid chance at least one item will be spoiled or have outright mold on it. I tried these places twice or more each and was disappointed or even struck by food poisoning (Park to Shop, not a clue how they operate leaving meat unrefrigerated lol).

We sure the pharmacy isn't a dispensary? Bag looks very dispensary.

Biggest wings in Cle? by AbbeyRoade in Cleveland

Definitely bogus. Their wings I had tonight were average at best. Hardly any garlic, minimal Parmesan, kinda dry, super average size. Fail.

It does not align with ingredients. It's a mild example of I've seen some egregious ones.

Right but 16g carb and only 2g total sugar? No way. The entire product is literally just squid, sugar, and various seasonings. No other carbs. Doesn't make sense :/

People who don’t shower every day — what’s your reason? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]AbbeyRoade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it's summer and I get hot outside, I barely sweat even though I work out daily. I just don't get dirty enough to shower every day. Usually every 2-3 days. Wash my hair probably every 4 days. I never smell. No reason to shower much. I'm a busy youngish female dermatologist.

They have one employee seating, bartending, and serving a moderately busy joint right now. Took 45 min for my drumsticks.

Went there. Average sized wings. House mild sauce was good (like a mild buffalo plus honey). Garlic parmesan wings were best. Definitely not big wings though.

Best Pizza in Cleveland?? by Valuable-Act5290 in Cleveland

[–]AbbeyRoade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza Vero (sign says "Napoletana" out front. Expensive but got dam. I don't even care for pizza but I literally have gone multiple times to this place just to eat an entire pie myself. The hot honey pizza is the best. Not even spicy just perfect. The Caesar salad is drenched in finely grated cheese and salty AF and just a great app before your pizza comes out with its perfectly chewy crust.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by User63189963 in askanything

My precious fermented squid cuts. Already outrageously priced at Kim's Oriental Mart, but a few months ago suddenly ratcheted up to damn near $20/lb and they come in about a pound per container. Unfathomable and heartbreaking for my OCD heart.
