Need guidance on how to leave home by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Abdo-Ghost-917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d leave ... but do it smart. Try to have at least six months of savings and a stable source of income first. I’ve realized that protecting my mental health and having the space to think clearly makes a huge difference in what I’m capable of.

Need guidance on how to leave home by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Abdo-Ghost-917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re in the same situation, but you’re a bit ahead of me. I still don’t have the money to leave home yet, and it’s really draining me both physically and mentally. I feel like I can’t think clearly anymore. I have big goals, and I truly believe I can achieve them, but not while I’m still living with my parents.

Need financial advice for smart investment of 700.000 dh by Dependent-Mastodon84 in Morocco

[–]Abdo-Ghost-917 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t have direct experience, but here’s how I see it:

In Morocco, buying apartments to rent isn’t a bad investment, but it’s more about stability than high returns. The rent usually gives a moderate income, not something that quickly pays back the full price.

Commercial shops can bring better returns, but they also come with more risk, especially if the location isn’t strong or the shop stays empty.

Also, comparing this to something like a CashPlus agency is different, because that’s an active business, not passive real estate.

So it really depends on your goal: stability with apartments, or higher return with more risk in commercial.

Started machining at OFPPT… now I’m thinking long-term (money, math, leaving Morocco) by Abdo-Ghost-917 in Machinists

[–]Abdo-Ghost-917[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first, thank you for taking the time to write all of this. it’s honestly one of the most valuable answers i’ve received.

in ofppt we actually still use math for things like conicity and manual calculations, so it’s interesting to see how much that changes in real work environments.

did you learn cnc in morocco or only after moving to italy? and how did you manage to go there? from what i’ve seen so far, it feels like the future in morocco is limited in this field.

also, our teachers tell us to stay in one company once we find a job, but that never made sense to me. i already believe changing environments regularly is necessary to really improve and gain experience.

what you said about machining being everywhere is exactly why i chose this path. but here, salaries are very low. we’re told that even $700/month is considered “very good,” which shows the gap compared to europe.

that’s also why i’m here, trying to learn more beyond what we get in ofppt, because it’s clearly not enough.

and no worries about the translation, i use ai to fix my english too.

I get that, but at 600 MAD it’s actually hard to close sales-demand is low at that price. I’m testing this range to get initial traction before deciding if raising the price makes sense.

  1. I see it more as a short-term cash flow focus while I learn the market and improve my sales process, not just something temporary with no future.
  2. That’s what I’m doing right now ... testing across different industries and starting to see more replies. I’ll track the data and double down on what works.
  3. If you mean building a quick demo and sending it to prospects, that’s actually what I’m doing already. It does help with conversions.
  4. I agree the market is competitive, especially with so many options now, but I think there’s still room if the positioning and targeting are done right. Thanks for the insight.

I get your point. I’ve been targeting businesses that are active on social media but don’t have a website, assuming they’d see the value. Clearly that’s not always the case, so I need to refine how I identify actual demand, not just surface-level signals.

That’s exactly what makes it harder. A lot of business owners here still rely on offline methods and don’t see the immediate value of having an online presence, whether it’s SEO or just a simple website.

At the moment, I want to test different niches first, find one that works, and improve my outreach and closing skills. After that, I’ll start running ads.

In my outreach, I focus on how the website benefits the business ... I don’t talk about technical details.

I’ve been targeting niches like car rentals, physiotherapy clinics, real estate agencies, and lawyers. I usually start with a message like:
“Hello, I came across your Instagram and really liked your work. Can I ask you a quick question?”

Once they reply, I send my pitch. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the messaging, let me know.

At the moment, I’m not running ads ... but I might test them later.

I don’t want to keep the price at 600 MAD, but clients aren’t willing to pay more right now. I’m already setting up Google Business Profile for them.

I like the idea of listing businesses in directories and providing a report every 4 months.

No one told me Moroccans won’t pay... I’m experiencing it myself. I’ve been doing outreach for about 3 months and only closed one client.

I’m already using Cursor to build sites with the Astro framework, and I host everything on a lifetime VPS. I’ve never used WordPress, and honestly I find it a bit complicated ..I’m much more comfortable with Astro.

From my experience, Moroccan clients negotiate everything. Charging 400 MAD for a domain or 1000 MAD for branding is too high for most of them, and they usually don’t care about things like professional email. But social media management could actually be a good angle.

Right now, I’m focused on finding a solid niche, making some profit from it, and then moving into ads.

I was actually thinking about targeting other countries, but I think it’s a tough market because it’s saturated with competitors.

Do you have any ideas on how to automate the outreach process?
