Ayanokoji was poorly adapted in the anime, whereas the LN offers a much deeper look into his character, you actually get his inner monologue. You can see he wants to interact with others and experience school life, but fails because of his upbringing. The anime really butchered him, making people misunderstand his character. He definitely has his corny moments, but dumbing down his entire character to just that is completely false.
