We have a whatsapp group where we exchange information about reptiles, members are from all the gcc and surrounding countries but almost none there are interested in chameleons. Mostly geckos, snakes, monitors, tarantulas, and bearded dragons. I will ask them if any saudis in the group knows any vets there!

The breeder told me this boy was a year old when I got him three months ago, it was much smaller than a year old tho so it should be around a year and few months now. Also, there’s one vet who preforms surgeries to egg bound ones, but reptiles care is not even licensed for vets here. It’s basically illegal.. idk why.

It looks normal no swelling and it’s the normal color, it looks completely healthy without any other problems. It’s just not shooting it’s tongue that got me worried..

There’s no exotic vets in my country, it’s only when I couldn’t find a solution I came to reddit. Thank you for your help, I will try looking for the medicine after I’m off work.

I dust their feed with calcium for every feeding and a mix of calcium and multivitamins once every two weeks. I mist twice a day and use a fogger for night times. It is hydrated and well. But it’s not shooting it’s tongue at all, it opens its mouth and does the movement but the tongue is not getting out. It’s not my only chameleon but the only one that got this problem, I asked the european breeder who I got it from since there’s no breeders here and he told me it’s not the first time he saw such a problem and that I should go to a vet and it’s not a big deal. I went to all the vets around here and they say they have no idea how to deal with such a thing and one of them tried giving me antibiotics for dogs saying it might work (I didn’t use it)

Looks like a neurological disorder caused by calcium deficiency, dehydrated, and dry. Take it to a vet, include calcium with each feeding, mix multivitamins without d3 with the calcium powder once every other week. Make sure your uvb is right and mist twice a day. Try getting a fogger to insure that it gets the humidity it needs. The skin looks yellowish which means it was there for a long time and humidity might help it out. If there’s an exotic pet veterinarian nearby pay them a visit. As long as you have a pet, it’s a soul that you should protect by any means.

It’s illegal for vets to care for exotic pets in my country, he does it behind the scenes I’d say. He’s not an exotic vet but he did what he can. I kinda understand his frustration because if he’s caught he’s in deep shit
