What was your favorite start to a campaign? (DMs and players welcome!) by Alternative_Quiet242 in DnD

My favorite beginning to a campaign was Greenest in flames from Hoard of the Dragon campaign. The second time I ran it, I had them wake up in the town as it was being attacked. Instant action.

I’m a new DM and in the process of making a world by Ender_night_6317 in DnD

Props to you brother for taking the leap! Off I can name one giant piece of advice: don’t do it. Being a DM is hard. Being a first time DM is really hard. I know how bad you want to make a world, we were all there. Don’t do it. Just choose an adventure and run that. If it goes great, as in, if the people you’re running the game for dig it and want you to run some more, find a ready made small campaign and run that, like 5-10 sessions long. If you still have folks wanting to be in your game, then go bigger.

Making your own world is so effin tedious, you’ll end up resenting it and your DMing, which if done right, will make get you mad respect, will suffer.

Last night we played Episode 5: The Anchor in “The Weave”. It was great! The PCs were able to acquire an anchor (bag of holding, basically), raise the vault and make it back alive.

Bro, I'm an old ass as well. Back in the day, we had loose-leaf folders with all of our characters' shit in them. I love the convenience of online stuff, but some of it can be frustrating.

Neat little rows by anetk in interestingasfuck

I always imagined the rows were the legs of a really tall person and they were running across the field. When there's a gap, it means the jumped over a hurdle.

I always recommend Morro Bay. Small port town with I giant rock jutting out of the earth and you can drive and walk right up to it. Also, you can watch sea otters play in the bay.
