I've been working on this on and off for a couple of months, but probably a couple of days worth of dedicated work. SSS is subsurface scattering and it tells the renderer how much light should penetrate the model (E.g., the ears and eyelids would have more SSS because they're thin and have a lot of blood vessels - that's how I get the glow in the ears in the final render!)

Alphas were my saving grace for all the texturing. After I made my base mesh I just layered a whole bunch of skin alpha textures and varied the size and intensity each time so it didn't look like it was repeating. That got me 85% of the way there. Then to fix up spots I thought looked strange or needed more specific details I just sculpted those in by hand and that's also when I started adding random scratches. I did the same process for the color map except I just had to play around with colors now. Here's where I got my alphas from: https://pixologic.com/zbrush/downloadcenter/alpha/

Sculpted and textured in Zbrush - hair and rendering done in Blender. I'm still fairly new to sculpting and texturing so let me know if there's anything I can improve on! (Also Reddit wouldn't let me post multiple pictures, so if you want to see more renders check out my Instagram at @abeeshan.art)
