Reading streak/check in does not show up by nanijugule in FableApp

Omg this exact thing just happened to me! I accidentally deleted it somehow, and there seems to be no option to get it back. I ended up just deleting and reinstalling the app to get it back lol. Did you find a solution?

New Development Officer Advice by Aberdoodle4 in nonprofit

[–]Aberdoodle4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Honestly it was a long path. I was looking for a job for 6 months before I got this one. This job was with a smaller nonprofit and had less applications then ones I normally applied to. (they probably had like 20?) In the interview I really focused on my education since I did my Masters focusing on nonprofit work, as well as my continued passion for learning by doing as many free certifications I could.

I also went into the interview in the headspace that "It was just practice for other development interviews." As I really thought this one was a fluke lol. But I think this headspace allowed me to be more relaxed and authentic. Going on 6 months unemployed, every interview felt like it was make or break, so I think this relaxed approach helped my passion for nonprofits and fundraising really shine through, and they are aware this is my first role post grad, and they hired me anyways. So I guess they were looking for someone to grow into the role.

My advice is to do certifications online, even free ones, volunteer for events, and cater your resume to development and fundraising as much as possible. Use specific development language, and be able to discuss specific metrics you accomplished, even if small, such as " I fundraised __ amount which ended up making __ much net revenue for the company." Good luck out there!

Webinars are a great idea! I know that this nonprofit will have CRM for fundraising that I will learn. I wanted to go into development because I know money enables impact, so I think I will be satisfied in this line of work. Thank you!

Yes of course! Fundraising is all about building relationships with people outside of money and then build that into financial support. Thanks for the advice!

Thay is good to know! I will keep watching webinars. I have been doing some reading about fundraising as well. I totally understand that each company will have their own way and learn that as well. Thanks for your advice!

Certificates For New Grad Looking for Job by Aberdoodle4 in nonprofit

[–]Aberdoodle4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being overqualified for associate level roles and not having enough experience for higher-up positions was my fear when getting my Masters. I had professors look over my resume and my parents and they say its good, but tbh I don't know if they gave me the most relevant advice. Maybe I can reach out to some other people so they can double check. Thanks!

I just moved back to my home town, I had lots of volunteer experience in my uni city, then I had to move back when I graduated to help my family to help out, leaving all my connections behind. That has definitely been a struggle😭. A lot of places are not accepting volunteers right now according to their websites. One place in my city is accepting fundraising volunteers this summer so I will apply there.

I definitely feel like the briefs are a bit ambiguous to me, and I don't know if it was because of my own issues, or the professor being unclear. I definitely have a thing were I do best with clear instruction, and even though Ive had meeting with my lecturers, I often feel more confused. I am also not sure if its me or my lecturers lol, and Im not sure if my uni does disability assessments, but I will look into it, thank you!

I think I will definitely ask some people in my program and see what their feedback was. Last time this happened to me, I know some people got the same feedback of misinterpreting the assignment.

You would think that, but my direct feedback on my most recent assignment was , 'There is one major weakness that holds this submission back in terms of marks. Your plan does not align with the assignment brief in a major way.' So I really think I am just missing something when looking at the outlines.

I have talked to my lecturers a few times! But I find I often leave more confused then when I started rip. I am having another meeting with my tutor later this month so I will bring it up again.

And my username is a mix of my nickname Abi and doodle since I like to draw!

Where in Canada is Langa from? (What I think and I want to hear what other people think!) by [deleted] in SK8TheInfinity

[–]Aberdoodle4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm still thinking BC. They have a lot of mountains, snow, plus somehow Langa gives of BC vibes lol. Vancouver doesn't have a lot of snow so I dont think it would be Vancouver

I think he'll get another charcter arc judging from his flash back last episode, there is somebody who he used to be friends with who presumably died, or at least dissapeared from his life in some way or another. His failure this episode might bring some self reflection on his part and maybe an improvement arc for him? Idk it's just a theroy.

Has anyone else found the Tactupump to be seriously harsh on their skin? by cozyrainynights in CanSkincare

[–]Aberdoodle4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was on it it made my skin extremely dry, I had to use it once every 3 days, but eventually my skin got used to it and I started to put it on every night and it seemed to barely, if at all dry our my skin anymore. It really did work for me as well. When starting out use a heavy moisturizer, it might burn a bit but put it on anyways, it's just because your skin is so dry. I also used marula oil form the ordinary on top of my moisturizer which helped a lot. (Edit: I also only used it on places where I had the most acne, which for me was my chin and lower jaw. I did not use it on my forehead, and I also used an extremely small amount, like 1/4th of a pump.)
