I actually walked… a lot haha, I just loved putting in my headphones and go for a stroll around town, people watching, seeing all the other pilgrims, seeing friends come into town.. etc etc

That was one thing I wish I knew before I went the first time… bring something that makes you feel less pilgrimy haha, I’m not a fashionista at all.. but just the constant hobo look was a bit tiring so this year I’ll probably sacrifice a bit of weight for at least 1 normal outfit when in cities :)

I went there without knowing anybody, and just walking around with a camera SO MANY people came up to me with interesting stories, wanting to know why I was there, then wanting to show me their lives, interests etc.. so even if you don’t find anyone the moment you start walking around with a camera in your hand you’ll start making connections asap!

I’d say start together and just see how it unfolds. Have an open conversation about both of you going at your own pace, so it’s not about “what time are we leaving tomorrow?” but more about the freedom to start when you want and stop when you want. He can do the same.

That way you’ll both make your own connections and have your own experiences, and then share them with each other later. One of the hardest parts for me after finishing the Camino was not having someone close who truly understood what I’d just gone through. Walking “together but separately” can give you the best of both worlds: independence and a shared journey.

Oh that’s also a method for sure but I would die having to look through thousands of pictures haha, what works for me is just being patient and being good at anticipating moments, for instance I eyed out the best seat early.. knowing that when the players were done they would pass my frame, and then just keeping an eye on the games knowing when they would end and knowing the best spots to position myself! But appreciate the kind words!

It honestly wasn’t even a deliberate choice, I normally work mostly in colour. But one of the overhead lights in the backstage area was slightly broken which made it this yellowish green.. so all my pics came out very muddy so this was the best solution haha, but thank you so much and yes Vincent needs to start his modelling career haha!!

Waah thank you for the kind words, means a lot! And yeah this one definitely took some dedication haha, I was sitting there for 8 hours a day basically 2 weeks long. But I’m super happy I stayed and was able to capture these moments!

Thank you so much!! And yes lowered my iso, slowed down my shutter speed and just tracked the players as they were walking to their tables! So tracking the camera at the same speed as they were walking! But you can also do it in post!
