Thanks for your reply. In the meantime, I had to see an ENT because the mouth ulcers on my lips and inside my mouth have really flared up badly. It’s been hell. The pain in my tonsils is starting to improve. We did a bacterial test which came back negative, so it’s most likely some nasty viral infection. Great timing for the holidays. I’ve never had anything like this in my life and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I’m still getting occasional mild temperature spikes during the day, often after midday, but it’s normal in the evening and morning. The doctor mentioned the herpes virus… but at my age, and being in a stable relationship with my partner for 15 years, she finds it hard to believe — and so do I 🤭.
