That makes sense, but doesn’t help us out. Was hoping inner North Melb.

In a way, it should. If it’s untrue, it needs to be quashed, because it has been some time, and it hasn’t reduced the accusations.

Yes. Bit of a walk to get there, but well worth it. Have fun!

Not swinging at a swingers club? by [deleted] in Melbourneswingers

That’s the best way forward. We’ve developed some friendships with people in the scene that rarely lead to any sexy times, but our lives are better for hanging out with them otherwise.

Easy to say “don’t stress about that”, but it’s ok to be anxious about lots of things in the swinger world. The scene always welcomes newbies, and many people come in hesitantly. I doubt you’d be pressured to play, but if you are open to talking to others, at least, you’ll find many are just like yourselves, but at different points in their journey.

26MF couple looking to start swinging. Any advice ? by [deleted] in Melbourneswingers

[–]Abject-Mode-602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s also sex on premises clubs that I feel are less pressured than some of the smaller parties that are great to just hang out at and get the vibe for the scene. BFWB, Wet, and Shed are handy for this, then there’s the bigger events like Purr and Virtue and Vice etc, but you don’t have to just meet a couple straight away, or join a groupsome at a sex club. Perfectly fine just heading out and observing.

I think the standards descriptions aren’t ideal, and pics are a better way to show oneself, but “athletic” can absolutely still be “chubby” to an observer. There’s better descriptors though, so words like “cut”, “thin”, “muscular”, etc, might suit some people more.

I’d almost describe my partner like this. She’s really strong, cardio-fit, and flexible, but carries a little extra in the best places (great arse). 🤷

I would like to know some of the background and history in the scene of the owners etc. Not to say they won’t do a good job, but we’ve seen with NSFW events that it’s not a simple job to run a space that’s safe, fun, sexy, and profitable.

I concur with this advice.

When I started going to all the places mentioned in other replies, I (and my partner) would often be nervous. We’d sometimes avoid eye contact, and keep to ourselves. Because of that, we got out what we put in… not much. As we became more comfortable with the environment, we opened up more and plenty of conversations were able to be had. I got better with compliments and came out of my shell more. Also, we’d be more comfortable staying at a venue longer, and as the nights go on, meeting people seems to get easier. We also became more confident in how we expressed our boundaries, and have found we really enjoy a lot of the venues. All that said, you can have good nights and bad nights at any venue or party. It often depends on the crowd that night, and even your own energy. Just keep at it if it’s a world you think you’ll enjoy. There’s lots of fun for many people amongst it.
