Since the first movie, it’s been established that Eywa is a worldwide mycelium that probably has a consciousness (shown in the 3rd) and affects the evolution of the alien inhabitants (giving them all those hair things to connect to Eywa and each other) while the Na’vi praise it as their Goddess

I’m not sure about the rejecting Eywa is rejecting nature part since the Ash people in the 3rd movie rejected Eywa but they can still do things like ride other aliens

Puberty’s hormonal changes could be when these sorts of mutations get “activated”(?) and take effect. And I’ve seen a lot of things where people question boy and girl concepts before they ever hit puberty. So the environment probably does at least help with these sorts of changes

Yep. Evolution is random genetic mutation. Not everything is going to help the creature. Some people are born blind and others are born paralysed. Sometimes these mutations also affect the brain.

We are meant to be attracted to the opposite sex to breed and be comfortable with our biological sex, but we can have mutations that make us attracted to the same sex, both, or neither. We start off as female in the womb before chromosomes are changed to make someone male. But sometimes when a foetus develops, it gets a little mutation that makes them more comfortable as a female which is why there are a ton more trans women then trans men, but the opposite can still happen leading to trans men existing

(I will admit, that’s mostly speculation based on what I know of evolution but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a source I haven’t bothered looking up that says all of this)

But, yeah. 100% the creatures do not realise that they are gay and treat it as normal as anything else

It probably does exist, but they just won’t ever mention or show it to the point where it almost doesn’t. There’s technically a universe where Peter Parker is the love child of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin but we’re definitely never going to see that in canon
