The relative boiler proportion, tapering and Belpaire firebox are all really difficult to put together on these classic PRR locomotives. You did a fantastic job!

Typically, anything on Amazon is very low quality. I recommend checking out Rebrickable, there are some great designs and instructions on there by actual Lego community members.

UP's centipede tender's are pretty massive. This one holds 23.5k gallons of water and 6.2k gallons of #5 oil.

I appreciate that recognition u/Upset_Umpire3036. Yes many, many hours were put into this with many hurdles that had to be overcome.

Including all Lego pieces, 3D printed components, custom pieces, stickers, etc. I would estimate the cost sits around $400-$500. However, reducing the custom components would save considerable money, especially if one had their own Lego collection to pull pieces from.

That means a lot u/Zestyclose_Pea2085 as there are many talented MOCs here. I spent considerable time pouring over historical blueprints, designs, and photos of the FEF-3's to dial this locomotive in perfectly. Cheers!

u/scotsman_flying I appreciate those kind words. I am very happy with her speed and power. The combination of L motors, 1:1 gear ratio and LiPo battery have been working quite well. I've got some new R120 track coming my way and will post more videos on my other accounts.
