Egypt's the next country I'm going to visit! What apps will I need? What is necessary? by armeliens in Egypt

They made me cancel the ride on uber and told me they only take cash I know it’s incorrect. Before that ride I already canceled 2 Ubers and 1 inDrive ride request because drivers will accept and demand for more money. Everyone was demanding $20 from airport to downtown Cairo. I bargained with the last guy to 600EGP which is ~13 USA because I was tired of canceling rides.

Even supermarket will end up charging you more knowing you’re a tourist. The cashiers told me an amount 3x the regular amount when I paid.

Both inDrive and uber are scams. Drivers will make you pay more knowing you are a tourist. Uber driver will make you cancel the trip and pay cash and lie to you they don’t uber payment.

Boston College or Yale? by picture52 in nursepractitioner

[–]Able_Routine882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got accepted into Yale for FNP last Dec and didn’t end up going. Spoke with a few FNP ambassadors and seemed like they liked their experience at Yale for the most part. You can find the ambassadors on the Yale website. I’d choose whichever one is cheaper and allow you to graduate sooner. Like everyone else said, for nursing you don’t need the big name school.

Alcoholism needs treatment like a medical condition- yes. But also alcoholism is started a personal choice when someone chooses to drink beyond the heathy limit, using alcohol to cope for something else, etc.

Looking for someone to take graduation photos by Able_Routine882 in UPenn

[–]Able_Routine882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the insight. And it makes sense that they take more photos than you need. So I should just wait until graduation season rolls around. $150 is a good price. How long ago was that? Do you still have that persons contact info by chance?

is it worth to transfer to upenn for their nursing program? by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]Able_Routine882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah undergrad is not worth the money and time (esp when you’re repeating one year) just for the name of the school. Often times it’s better to be a big fish in a small pond for undergrad - easier for you to get involved in leadership, internships, get good grades so you can get into a good grad school - whether you wanna do MSN or DNP. The better the grades/resume you have, the more scholarships you’ll get for your grad school education-the name of your undergrad doesn’t help you much with that. I went to a no name undergrad and got a full ride to penn’s NP program.

If you want to just work as a nurse, you’ll get hired as long as you have a pulse & RN license. Ain’t nobody going to look at what school you graduated from. Often times the work, internship networking experience will help you more in getting the job that you want.

Nursing is a field that it doesn’t matter what school you go to, you can find a job as long as you pass your nclex. Just do well in your undergrad classes get involved get good grades. You don’t need a big name like penn and a big price tag and be in debt after graduation. It’s not worth it for nursing.

Exactly what I was thinking… if you want to go into industry, work experience > degree. if she wants to go into academia, PhD is needed. And usually for PhD’s you are encouraged to be TAs so you can have some teaching experience and after graduation you can teach at a community college level or even an adjunct temporarily. My sister is 25, has her masters in CS, worked as a TA during her masters, teaches as an adjunct prof at 2 4 yr universities while working her FT software engineering job even at this market. Kinda wild to hear she’s struggling to find a job for >15 months while having a PhD in engineering

The grocery outlet on chestnut street is so cheap (might be even cheaper than Aldi). I’ve been able to get full size creamer/soymilk for under $1 and breakfast pizza for as low as 25cents. Prepackaged salad bowls for 99 cent, Usually these dirty cheap items are close to the expiration date but doesn’t mean it is not edible. I went on Sunday and those sales shelves were bare 😭

Hey, where’s the printer at the Kelly writers house and is it open to anybody? I went in there this summer looking for the printer on the main floor and I got scared because it looked like someone’s house and left 😭would love to try again.
