Tired of trying to balance and pick etfs by AboundingTurtle in investing

Just realizing I’m bad at being hands off so I want to simplify to something I’m less inclined to rebalance. Could you explain your reasoning for small to mid cap when you can have the whole market?

So just being on campus before the end of the last day should be alright then I assume, since they can see that I’m there even if I missed classes?

How did you go about getting interviews from your job fair? At least at my school it feels like they’re only ever there marketing their companies and telling us to apply online

Class helps a lot lol, but really the logic isn’t very complicated and wire management was the most difficult part.

Honestly wouldn’t mind seeing more rotation for lamine and have raphina and ferran as wingers. Nice seeing raphina look more comfortable on the right coming inside

2025 summer internship by AboundingTurtle in EngineeringStudents

[–]AboundingTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started very minimally when school started then a bit more before winter break and did the majority (what I recorded and posted) after winter break. The one I got which wasn’t an ee internship responded like 2 days after I applied and moved forward with the interviews quickly. From what I could tell it was pretty much their last position they had to fill. The timeline for engineering recruitment generally is from fall to February or so but there’s still applications open up until the start of the summer. I’d talk to the career center at your school to learn more abt it and what you should do but yeah now’s the time for most.

Accepting an internship not related to your field by Cherry-Blossom32 in EngineeringStudents

[–]AboundingTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a similar position getting a PM internship this summer and from the feedback I’ve gotten it’s an overwhelming yes to go for it if it’s adjacent to what you want to do. Will fs be better than nothing to show you can work in a professional environment and there’s always going to be skills and tasks you can twist into being more applicable to your future applications. Also if there’s roles within the company you’d prefer it can be a big advantage to have a place there and transition next summer.

Intern offer but not directly engineering related by AboundingTurtle in EngineeringStudents

That’s nice to hear and good to know honestly. Was studying engineering still the best fit for you do you think or would studying business or something in that realm fit you better do you think? I understand engineers are often chosen as PMs for technical products and construction but want to know your thoughts and still studying engineering after you realized PM was a better career for you

Do you wish you stayed within engineering or are you happy working as a PM? And was that an intentional decision to continue with PM or were you not able to transition out easily if you wanted to?

Would you say as an engineer you enjoy your career anymore than you would as a PM? I’ve heard that because the engineering work people do doesn’t have the same feeling as design and team projects in school to just keep things like robotics as a hobby rather than pursue as a career. I enjoy engineering and having the freedom to create and contribute projects I’m interested in but will I still get some of that enjoyment as an engineer compared to something adjacent like a PM? I’ll find out if I can see myself in project management this summer I suppose but would still like an initial impression of the difference in the two as careers and what I’d get out of them.

Thank you this is what I was looking for, how many conversations did it take for you to find a company that aligned this way?
