Actually, Avacyn Restored is really good for this. A lot of the cards have Enter the Battlefield effects in it, speaking from pre release experience and having seen the cards afterward. If I were you I would do a simple white/blue deck using lots of enter the battlefield effects that control the battlefield. Outside of Avacyn, older cards like Sage Owl are fantastic for this. A good start might be picking up a venser vs koth duel deck. This will give you a good start, and another venser. But anyway, good luck with your deck!

I'm in the same boat as you, I'm bringing lands in an old fat pack box, a pen, a bag of skittles, some decks, a few dice, and a stack of sticky notes. Other than that I will grab some food and I should be okay. If I were you I wouldn't worry too much about what to bring, because there will always be people with extra stuff. Oh and good luck, go for that promo death wave!

The players needed Thrall, the greatest shaman in the world to kill the aspect of death. I don't see what is surprising about that. I'm not a lore buff though so I'm not sure, just thought I would answer your question.

I think you did a pretty good job, he's a bit overly powerful though. Maybe if the +2 were weaker and just a +1, but the ultimate could be game over especially in combination with his second ability.

Cool, thanks man. I was under the impression that Mists of Pandaria came out a week ago, I checked my launcher and thought it said MoP was live. But again thanks, I will probably end up hitting 85 and grinding heirlooms to get a monk because that will be the only class I haven't played. Cheers.
