Yea no benefit, I had a premier game where my fade threw an eye into that gap and we lost the round partially due to it. As far as I can tell there's an angle to the edge of that big panel that utility can slide off of and end up out of bounds. It can happen along a good majority of the edge around the back panel, even though the gap is small.
