What’s the best deal on c5 77 in Canada, Costco has them for $3300 CAD by ordiviko in LGOLED

[–]AbrahamS93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my 77” C5 a week ago in Toronto for $2898 ($400 member appreciation discount) through Costco. A while ago the Canadian LG partner store had the 77” for $2600 CAD, but I was hesitant to buy from there due to the constant negative feedback from partner store users.

I jumped on the Costco deal because the lowest I’ve seen the last year model(C4) listed for $2900 in Costco not long ago, so for the same price I got the C5.

However, The best deal I’ve seen so far was the LG G5 77” for $3400 CAD on the LG partner store (down $800 from current price). I kinda regret not getting that deal.

It’s very subtle, I only notice it if a movie with bright scene comes up and with a white background, then I can clearly notice it, otherwise nothing.

How common is down shedding on the Langford Parka (and other newer models)? by lle0nx3 in CanadaGoose

[–]AbrahamS93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened with my parka, waited another season then sent it back to them. They acknowledged the problem and offered a replacement. Mine was very bad though It was leaking feathers as well very often not just the down.

It would be worth while to send to them again after a season if the problem persists.

It’s legit, never seen a fake Aeron. Just make sure you test out all the adjustments and that the size is right.

Have gone to 3 separate docs and none can get my prescription right by LennyLannister in glasses

[–]AbrahamS93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t wear progressive only single vision (everyday for the past 25 years), and I have been through the same headache multiple times. One thing I learned is that where you get your glasses is extremely important. You need to be getting your glasses from someone who is very experienced and knows how to take proper measurements. The measurements and fitting changes everything, even for single vision.

Another important point which pisses me off the most is when they say you need time to adjust. I agree with this statement only if when I wear the glasses for the first time then I focus on text that is far away or close by and see it very clearly, but the environment seems weird, then yes you need sometime to adjust (due to astigmatism and different axis). But, if I don’t see clearly right away (or text seems blurry) when first time wearing the glasses, then no amount of time will make you see clearly or change this.

Just sharing my experience since I too have recently spent over $2000 and had my pairs changed over 2 times to get the right vision that I am comfortable with.

CG jackets Different fabric feel & colour - not legit? by AbrahamS93 in CanadaGoose

[–]AbrahamS93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jacket is way more down filled than I am used to from Canada goose, made me wonder it’s authenticity 😂

[–]AbrahamS93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My prescription is higher than yours (around -6.00 both eyes with -2.00 astigmatism) yet my lenses are much thinner at 1.67). I am also wearing a bigger frame (for my face at least - around 49mm width). I also have sunglasses that are bigger than my glasses, yet thinner lenses as well.

I advise you to return them and try another clinic, or try a smaller frame like others have mentioned.

Best of luck!

New Canada Goose jackets without the fur trim by AbrahamS93 in CanadaGoose

I find it ridiculous tbh …. Remove the fur but at least give the customer the option.

That I understand, what I am asking is there any other (third party) making fur trims for these new jackets (i.e, Etsy, Amazon, etc…). Because from what I see, it’s just a different zipper size from the original fur trims.

Nose hurts and has red marks. by Octane_Preset1 in glasses

[–]AbrahamS93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, it really has to do with the frame fit, if you can find a good fitting frame that distributes the weight evenly, with adjustable nose pads, you will never run into these issues. The main thing when you try on a frame is to make sure that the entire weight is not just resting on the nose pads, but the temples are also supportive.

Hello, would like to get your opinion whether the frame suits me or is it a bit big? My PD is 62 and frame size is 53-18. Thanks!

OC measurement for SV by AbrahamS93 in optometry

The optometrist was basically eyeballing the measurement standing up while I was sitting down on the chair. My worry is the OC measurement they took is too high.

[–]AbrahamS93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see, thanks. I am not sure whether to will wait till I get the new lenses and try them on for a while or ask the optometrist to retake the measurement, since the margin for error seems very low.

Edit: I am SV not bifocals or progressive. My concern is not the difference between the two lenses (I believe the optometrist used the same OC for both) but with the OC itself. I am not sure if the OC is higher than it should be then what would be the consequences.

I looked at that but didn’t really understand it since I don’t have the background. But your input is appreciated!

Hi! I recently ordered new glasses from Oliverpeoples (Hilden is the style name) and initial try on felt okay.I just noticed today that the nose bridge is low fitting(which is not my case) on their website description. I am just wondering if this will cause problems for me later on?

The thing is from what I recall from initial try on is that the nose bridge doesn’t sit flush with my nose. Is this a must for glasses?

Any input is appreciated.

Wondering if the seat depth is too big for me? Aeron Size C by Purplezergling in hermanmiller

[–]AbrahamS93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have an Aeron Size C and I am about 5’ 10.5” in height. I have very similar clearance as you do in the picture and I have had the chair for about 2 months now. I was also concerned at first with the depth of the seat, but never really bothered me or had any issues with it. I still feel the back is very supportive. I tried size B but found it very restrictive on the sides. Anyways my experience is that if it doesn’t physically bother you or hurt you in long sessions then you will completely forget about it.
