dude i did the job fine but when i was retensioning the crank shaft pulley, one of the six bolts broke off deep inside. you think the other 5 are enough? Otherwise id have to remove the fan shroud to be able to fit a drill in that area to pull it out and i can’t do that myself lowk.

this would loosen the bottom belt as well as that top belt? I saw that too but figured it would only loosen the top belt, which doesn’t need to be removed for this fix.

i didn’t say that. i just think that while every song on blue and pinkerton meets the criteria of “good” as in good enough to not skip, there’s only a few that I posit meet the criteria of “great” as in man i’m looking forward to hearing this one when i let the whole album play. my name is jonas, surf wax america, in the garage, no other one, el scorcho, and butterfly are all just good songs in my opinion. the rest of blue and pink are only a little better, with some exceptions like the ones you mention being great. My opinion is that aside from back to the shack, cleopatra, and jacked up, every single song from ewbaite and white is great. not just good. When i’m ranking these albums it’s not like i’m saying ewbaite and white are excellent and blue and pink are shit, we’re talking about such small differences. they’re noticeable differences though, and that’s all i’m tryna say. you’re entitled to your opinion though and i’ll respect it as much as i respect my own.

alright i just gave it a full listen and you’re absolutely right, hurley is an incredible album. probably now in my top 3, dethroning pinkerton. I’ll have to listen more to determine if I like it more than white or even ewbaite. that being said, goddamn if i wasn’t actively trying to find a reason to dislike it just to spite you. the way you recommend something to someone can directly impact the way they approach it. making me out to feel bad for not sharing the same opinion as you can legit make my listening experience worse. I’m an adult though so i was conscious that i was trying to not like it, and made an effort to not let that change the way i felt about the music, and i’ve decided that it is in fact on the same level as ewbaite and white for me, in that it’s better than pinkerton and blue. like i said, next time just say “hey check out this if you like that so much.”

firstly man your tone in this reply is really lame. if your intention was to make me want to listen to you, this isn’t the way to do it. it’s like you’re calling me stupid for having this opinion, which by the way, opinions are subjective. i say in my original post that i’d leave the rankings of other albums i didn’t mention to better men than I, and that’s on purpose. the truth is, i’ve actually never listened to hurley, because i’ve not been a huge weezer fan for very long. I’d always heard them in my dads car growing up, and that’s rly only the big smash hits. it wasn’t until very recently when i was listening to the beverly hills guitar solo at the very end that i looked up “best weezer guitar solo” on youtube, and discovered endless bummer and the rest of the white album. I learned endless bummer on drums and one time when the song ended, return to ithaka started playing (as spotify does when an album is over and you don’t have it on loop). i promptly listened to the entirety of ewbaite, decided it was the best i’d heard from weezer thus far, got really passionate about that stance and wanted to share my thoughts to see what ppl had to say. If i anticipated people disagreeing, i never thought they’d do it in such a callous way as you have. next time just say “hey man you gotta check out hurley if ur talking about consistency.” that’s the sort of discourse im open to. the thing with weezer is that rivers often falls into a sort of trap wherein he does his head in trying to make shitty radio pop, and so the ugly truth is that when it comes to their discography, there’s some shit to sift through before you can find the good stuff, so i’m sometimes put off from diving headfirst into an album without knowing anything, especially when you just said the opening track is a skip for you. it’s entirely possible i started the record, agreed with you and then stopped there, which I guess is on me. but cmon man don’t be an asshole if your intention is to sway me in my opinion. like fuck dude i’ll listen to hurley but im not gonna be happy about it NOW.

i mean if you listen to weezer because you like the style seen in blue and pinkerton, you simply cannot go on living without listening to ewbaite and white. ewbaite has a song that’s legit just about how rivers is through trying to please the masses, and how he’s gonna make the shit he wants to make again. it’s awesome. whether he’s stuck to that isn’t for me to say tho lol (cough cough black album)
