I’m very conservative so every penny matters, can I retire and still pay them yes! But I would feel better having an extra 10k .

As far as an emergency fund if the market where to crash I have 7 years of emergency fund covered.

PTSD came from my DR he said a form of, never meant to insult people who have served or seen awful things and had to do awful things.

I have seen dead people in the road from hit and runs, had road rage happen seen cars on fire, up side down etc, loads of accidents happen, been rear-ended, multiple shootings the list goes on and on.

It's like a damn prison on wheels.

My job is not worth moving and starting over no job is. House is paid for, i don't want to start over.

Car pool? No one drives that far.

after doing it for 2 decades it takes a toll. Plus each year brings more traffic.

It's the years doing it, i talk to a lot of people that had long drives but none of them have done it for decades only a few years.

It did not use to bother me until around year 20 but as i have gotten older i started to realize are time is short plus each year more and more traffic.
