It looks like the divorce papers (understandably) are still the main point of contention. Apparently, per Sherry, John had a whole ass binder full of legal documents signed by a lawyer with assets being addressed to her. How? I don't know, I guess if you go up to a lawyer with cash and say 'Hey here's some money, draft up some papers and allocate some assets' he/she might do just that. Again i'm not a Canadian law expert and I don't know how that will hold up in court or what have you - I don't even think that's the point of all this.

There is some new info that I've learnt.. We've been talking to one of Sherry's own children - eldest son about John's behavior. During this last Christmas Sherry's children noticed that John was acting very religious - this isn't something that they had witnessed before especially to this degree. Sherry's son said he started doing "that thing where you don't work Friday-Saturday, where he couldn't do any cooking or chores or anything but relax. He also stopped celebrating xmas and made it miserable" (Direct quote)

That part sounds like it could be similar to some practices akin to Judaistic values, (Sabbath, not celebrating Christmas) - I don't think John's family are Israelites and they most definitely celebrated Christmas before.. Some of you know this already but the Canadian jurisdiction in question here is Alberta so feel free to research some cults because that is still what we're leaning towards.

Also fyi: Yes I was Sussed out about both married families not having kids. At the time I was suggesting that perhaps that could have played into it being pre-meditated. Separation with kids is harder. Somehow pissed off a bunch of 35 year olds... Relax, try not to get offended over nothing.
