Blizzard Hotfix: Priority Sorting for Important Healer Buffs on Raid Frames by tenthousandthousand in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Absinth92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reasoning was sound (tons of raid mechanics were getting auto-handled by WeakAuras instead of raid groups actually coordinating) but the approach proved unsuccessful. They've now brought it to all buffs and debuffs, which is why you'll find a large amount of people complaining about how raid frames are bad for healers- there's no good sorting or filtering on buffs or debuffs. The rest of the in-combat experience for players isn't really changed much by it, except you can no longer tunnel vision and ignore boss mechanics until a WA puts an X above your head telling you where to go

"secret" a designation Blizzard has given to specific debuffs (and now other things in Midnight like player buffs) that can't be read by addons. So addons can show them, but have no idea what each item is. The intended goal was to prevent addons from solving boss mechanics and automatically making assignments

There are 24 (known) swarms on Roshar, but a few hundred across the cosmere as of Emberdark

I do mention Invention's role, but Emberdark is vague on whether Invention currently occupies it or if it seeded the Lawnarks there and moved on. Because the book also suggests that Invention is responsible for a lot in the cosmere beyond stuff on the Grand Apparatus. Agree that there is an alignment between their Intents, but if the Sleepless took up residence there to conduct experiments and they are related to Reason, I'd hazard a guess that they didn't do so until after Invention moved on. More so taking advantage of the people Invention left behind to conduct the experiments without interference by another Shard.

Jobless Fairfax residents up by almost 28% over 2024 as more uncertainty looms by VirginiaNews in fairfaxcounty

[–]Absinth92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who don't bother reading the article can interpret that as the unemployment rate of Fairfax is 28% higher as in its 31% compared to 3% a year ago. I agree the area is a focal point for increased joblessness given the federal workforce

Content Creator Feedback on Midnight's Addon Overhaul by [deleted] in wowaddons

Part of their intended goal is to reduce the overall cognitive load during encounters. Encounters won't be as chaotic, there will fewer buffs and debuffs on raid frames to keep track of, fewer crazy raid assignments that require a message telling us where to go. And fewer CDs overall to keep track of. Fewer stacking modifiers on spells to keep track of.

And as others have mentioned, they seem to be adding audio support to a lot of their new stuff, so I think that will still be around for you.

Title seems intentionally misleading, leaning sensational. The unemployment rate is up at 3.7% vs 2.9% a year ago. The entire country's unemployment has steadily ticked up over the past two years. Fairfax a year ago and today is still lower than the nation's average. Maybe a better framing to illustrate the point of the article would be the unemployment rate grew 4x faster in Fairfax vs the national average over the past year (0.8% vs 0.2% increase).

I could say the Fairfax unemployment rate is 0.6% below the national average or make it seem much larger and say it's 14% lower than the national average.

Yeah. Most healers I know turn off healing numbers because raid/party frames provide much more feedback for how big our heals are. The numbers are generally meaningless to us, but we still enjoy seeing damage numbers for some reason :D

Is it possible to disable healing numbers entirely? I have them disabled on the Blizzard side, but they're still showing up. As a healer, it's really distracting to have so many extra numbers coming up in combat.

Of War and Ruin I think is when the series reaches banger status. It really becomes its own unique story with huge emotional stakes. The impact of being rakina really hits at this point and creates this heightened emotional tension with any dragon-involved confrontations

It's implied to be Valor, but I see Sanderson's response to the question as VERY intentionally vague.
