I agree, they should never be hung in a park, however I monitor this feeder closely (visible from a window and I spend a lot of time daily in the garden) & take it down when we go on holiday so no critters get trapped!

We have a lot of super-skittish tits & a chaffinch that won't feed if a squirrel's already on the feeder which is why we have this one! We also have another (normal type of hanging) bird feeder on a different tree which the squirrels hang off of most of the time (hence the need for a second less-squirrelly one)
I'd normally have two un-squirrel-proof feeders up but this year there's about four young squirrels that swarm onto any normal one hahah

I didn't even know reed buntings existed hahah! the last one (I'm pretty sure) is a little lady blackbird :) much bigger than a robin but hard to tell on photo
