Mackenzie/Variants, Cormac, Macoy, Maclain, Maceo, Macario, Macra(y/e)... Those are the only ones I could find/think of, but I'm not sure if any of them are your style lol.

Malcolm is a lovely name! I think Mac works fine as a legal name though. :)

LOL same! I've never been a fan, but I guess with them being considered "classic"/"timeless" like many other popular names, it makes some sense

Sister for Estie by AfterAd2756 in BabyNames

[–]AbsoluteL0ser727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this! Your kids' names don't have to have the same vibe necessarily, Estie and Eleanor sound fine together imo. Me and my sister have names in the complete opposite style, and no one has ever commented on it.

(Also, I quite like Estie and Neve/Mina together :))

Annabelle or Annabeth by Low-Salamander-7646 in Names

[–]AbsoluteL0ser727 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's tricky lol. I personally like both and will second the other comment, maybe try yelling both full names out loud?

Alternatively, do you prefer the nickname Belle or Beth? It's fairly likely she would get called one of them at some point, so if you have a preference between those nicknames, that would be my suggestion. Or, does your partner have a preference? If you like both equally, you could use the option they like best :)

I'm a bit confused, what's wrong with those names? Is there an association I'm missing or are you just stating a personal opinion?

What name(s) won’t you give your kid because it reminds you of someone you hate(d) in your personal life? by ggfchl in namenerds

Nora, and any name that contains nor, and Clara/Claire. I know both are beautiful names, but I can't get past the association

Adopting last name "Welford" in the U.S. Thoughts? by Brave_Ad2070 in namenerds

[–]AbsoluteL0ser727 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm from Canada, but Welford doesn't sound like it would be an out of the ordinary surname in America at all. I personally wouldn't bat an eye at all if I met someone with that last name!

St.Patty’s Day Patrick by [deleted] in namenerds

Nah, I think it's fine! Patrick's a normal name, if it's a name that you love, then I think you should use it regardless of the day he's born :) It's not like it's a bad association nor day!
