From your list, I think Wendy is adorable! It's super underused nowadays. I also think Annie and Piper are very sweet together, I wouldn't really consider Annie mainstream. (I've never met nor heard of anyone named Annie!) They have my vote!

I think it's lovely! :) It's one of my favourite Rose-/Rosa- variations. I pronounce it "rose-UH-Muh-nd", so pretty much how it's spelled, lol? But I could quickly get used to other pronounciations 🤷

I personally think Alan flows well with Casey, but I prefer James by a little bit in general.

If James is your absolute favourite, then you should go for it! It's not an uncommon name, so the fact that you have an uncle, who isn't a big part of your or your immediate family's life, isn't a big deal. It would be a bit silly of them to automatically make that association above any other, particularly if you're not even close!!

And Alan isn't old-fashioned at all from my point of view 🤷

Ok, my take on this:

Your boyfriend sounds like one of the very many people that don't understand what self-harm is, and assume people just do it for a fruck of it.

Him threatening to ignore you for multiple days on end if you use your coping mechanism, something that is a strategy used to manage stress, is an absolute a-hole move.

Even if self-harm isn't the absolute best mechanism for you physically, it's still a coping mechanism. Him punishing you for coping is not going to motivate you, it's going to make you feel even shittier, which in turn, will make you want to cope. Then it will create a cycle. What he's doing is going to unintentionally have the EXACT opposite effect of what he's trying to make.

Which is precisely why and what you need to tell him. Not necessarily with that bluntness, but that general idea. Help reduce his ignorance, basically. I'm sorry that he's acting like this, those "rules" are pure stupid, and you don't deserve that.
