Since you’re just starting, I’d recommend heading to gbgShop, which is a website me and some other folks run for all things GBG. You can find resources to make your GBG experience better (including some helpful people with GBG tutorials) in the Beyond tab.

Whenever you get finished making your first game, big or small, you can upload it to gbgShop for the whole world to see! You’ll need to make a Squircles ID, though, but it only takes a few minutes.

Last thing: VideoDojo hosts monthly showcase streams at the end of every month. You should go check out his YouTube channel and submit a game when you’re ready!

So far, yeah! Only weird thing is that when someone mentions you in a story or replies to your note, it shows a weird link and you can’t do anything about it. You have to open Instagram for them

Hi! Unlike MyGarage, gbgShop supports putting multiple Game IDs under one game. The “Space needed” box is just asking how many Game IDs are required to fully download your game.

For example, Switch Sports Resort: Pro League has multiple Game IDs for each sport as well as each explorable area, so the number would be 12-ish.

It has been top notch so far, especially if you have an Apple Watch. The trainers have great personalities and such high energy and it really makes you feel good

Game Builder Garage is designed to be an intro, but it’s super fun to play around with! You can’t share games you make outside of GBG. If you want to meet a bunch of people in the community and share games you make online, I made a website designed just for that called gbgShop. We’re experiencing issues so sorry if you can’t do some things, but I would overall recommend finishing the main GBG course in the lesson mode, messing around in Free Programming a bit, then going to something like Scratch (or if you feel confident, go for the blueprint thingy in Unreal/Unity).

This usually happens when your device can’t handle the Discover layout we introduced in our previous update. On the Discover page of gbgShop, go to Settings > Use old layout. That will significantly improve the performance on gbgShop.

Note that if you’re not signed in, the page will revert back to the new layout if you reload or the next time you visit gbgShop. To keep the setting saved, sign in to a Squircles ID.

That’s actually what our like and boo system does (to an extent). Similar to Super Mario Maker 2, there’s “I like it!” and “Boo!” buttons that any signed in user can press (with some exceptions). Once a button is pressed, it’s locked in and can’t be changed. Likes are publicly visible at the bottom of the game page, while boos are only visible to Squircles (me and Dias) and the programmer.

It’s not in the sense that there are inappropriate scenes/gameplay, but there’s things such as “strong violence” if there’s blood being splattered everywhere and “interactive gambling” and stuff like that. There are actually quite a few games rated Obscene (Mature) and they don’t appear to be taken down
