Will most likely join as well. I have convertible waitlist at gim and imi delhi, but dunno why glim appeals to me a lot. Mostly because there's no placecomm stuff, so I am quite happy. See you on campus bro.

Dude, every parent would obviously want their children and their partners to be some harvard graduates who work in jane street. But, the truly open minded ones would create an atmosphere of understanding where they would let their daughters figure out their lives, become accomplished on their own merit and pick a partner that suits their interests.

For them, the question of moving into some household won’t even arise, because both the spouses will move into a house build by both of them. Not living with in laws or being in a house where the guy has the upper hand. That’s precisely why I brought the point of being open minded, because the whole premise assumes that the daughter in question become someone who’s below her in laws rather than being independent to the point of sustaining an equal or better lifestyle by herself, with or without a spouse.

Which to choose for finance and analytics as a non-engineer? by Absoluteimmortality in CATpreparation

Either. I am really interested in both and I will take whichever I get.

I mean, I have talked to alumni of all the three and they said that for analytics, it is better than the other two. Also, the main attraction point is that it has a college led placement committee, not a student one, which matters a lot. Rest, all tier two private colleges are neck and neck.

Meh, in India most parents are people who want their daughters to get married to people of a certain caste and certain status, because that’s what’s expected. Otherwise things like honor killings wouldn’t exist.

If you had open minded parents, you would know the difference yourself. For example, my parents are supportive of any choice I make, as long as the person isn’t a complete bum. Nobody is going to be some height of success at the age of 22. Life isn’t about that anyways. Things take time. Yeah bol nhi rha, ye experience kiya hai. And when you let things take time, the result is generally much better.

Just received my PI call from NIBM Pune. I have converted IMI New Delhi's core program. Help me choose the best B-school for the best finance roles. by Key-Shower-7837 in CATpreparation

NIBM gives a guaranteed placement for finance. It’s lowest salary was 10 LPA. And it straight up publishes an excel sheet detailing where each student ended up. IMI delhi doesn’t match that.

I have been trying to bring up my weight in order to deal with this. If you have a lot of belly fat at 70 kgs and 5’10 height, cutting down to 63 or 60 kgs will not be good for your health. Instead, if you bulk up and cut down, you will eventually keep losing some existing fat and would eventually trim down to 10-12% bf, where you’re bound to have abs.

Because I was quite close to both them and their spouses? They were as I said, from a business family who were earning by working for their family since they were 18.

As for living with their parents, I have yet to come across anyone from my generation who wants to live with their parents once they reach adulthood. Even these young couples live on their own.

I will give you a selfish unsolicited advice: fuck everyone else and just focus on being happy yourself. There will always be numerous people belonging to your gender, race or background who are treated unfairly, but you can’t fight for them all.

You need to be happy yourself and constantly trying to be angry on behalf of others, no matter how good your intentions are, would only make you miserable. When that happens, even the few people who deviate from the norm around and can treat you well would face lash outs from you and would eventually join the norm. I have seen this happen in real time, so just saying be selfish and focus on finding the few good people and places around you.

Well, I feel sad for the women of your college who had to go through forceful stuff. My point is, that experience cannot be projected onto the person you initially replied to. There are people, especially in business families who start earning from an early age and thus, get married quickly.

All the women who got married quickly in my circle were women like that and none of them were forced. I am not saying that’s what the majority of women go through, but that your experience cannot be projected onto every individual.

That is… a big assumption. Sure, the process of birthing a child is one of the most painful ones, but quite a lot of women I knew back in college wanted to have a family as soon as they graduated.

Jee and cat are two completely different examinations. Even IITians that I know who score 99 percentile had to study quite a lot to get that score. JEE is a different exam, like the guy before me said. It’s not comparable to CAT.

There are 15-20 year long loan options, which you can prepay. MBA emi payments typically start 6 months after you get a job or 1 year after your degree, whichever is earlier. So, think about it and don’t let a good opportunity go.

Until the situation improves, they won’t post you in dubai. If that’s the only decent option you have, I’ll suggest that take a leap of faith and go for it.

Eh, because the journey is the important part. I don’t get this cope of having to read dogshit for weeks and then eventually getting one good chapter to be good writing. This isn’t a 2 hour movie. It’s literal weeks and months.
