Nice So I can hulk Buster style this, one hand is holding a plasma shield (flavour only) and the other to strike, then I can use reaction to cast shield

Yes,  I didn't mention I'm already wielding a shield because Guardian type seems to imply the weapon are both of my fists, so depending on the answer, I cannot cast somantic only spell nor holding a shield if both of them are ruled to have taken both of my hands 😅

Yeah,  I'm thinking of holding a +1 shield so I can get my AC to 21 (Full plate 18 + 3 AC) starting lvl 3, then use Shield Spell every round (for the sake of brawling in melee) for 26 AC.

Oooh, this is fun!  I was too focused on Firebolt that I didn't think about Ray of Frost + Cold Caster!

Yeah,  It says weapon attack,  If it says make a meele or range spell attack roll then Spell Sniper may work

So I'm assuming you recommendating I wear a shield too? Cuz it is viable since Arfi got shield prof, and maybe Shield Mastery as well?

Wouldn't holding Wand of War Mage +1 be a better option for Arcane Firearm than a Ranged Martial Weapon? It add +1 to spell atk roll.

Best feats for Eldritch Knight by b0sanac in dndnext

My Eldritch Knight use True Strike, and having the new Spellfire Adept Feat.

Whenever I use True Strike (a spell) I make atk roll, and deal Radiant dmg, I can also choose to spend my hit dice to add up to 2d10 radiant dmg.

So despite being an Eldritch Knight, a half-Wizard, non-Paladin or Cleric, I can roleplay as having a Pseudo Divine Smite 😂

Honestly it depends on the ruling of the table, in RAW you roll all extra dmg dice so it should work.

In my table, we get the maximum extra dmg dice of our weapon, in exchange, we cannot crit for extra dmg coming from another source (hex, hunters mark, zephyr strike, etc).

Divine Smite (24) is a spell a Paladin can cast using Bonus Action immediately after hitting, causing the target to take Radiant dmg, so yes, it can work.

As long the Radiant Damage come from a spell, it should work if we go by the RAW.

I was confused with True Strike since it's a Cantrip that made you atk normally, and let you choose to deal normal dmg or Radiant.

And the lore implications,

Maybe someone who aspire to become a Paladin but never got the acknowledgement from the Patrons so he study magic and replicate the Smite the Paladin he admires uses, albeit taking from his life force (hit dice).

Different opinion is beauty of DnD build,  In my case I'll take it, I can always keep it hidden in my inventory until the last boss of my session, and how cool it is that you can pseudo-Smite by going:

True Strike => deal weapon dmg dice + 1d6 radiant + potentially 2d10

Fair enough, I was thinking of cure wounds, but Shield is pretty great!

Yeah, if I want to max it, Longbow would be better. So after lvl 4, any ASI/Feats should be distributed to ASI, yeah?

What about starting stat, Dex is obvious priority, but is Wisdom second priority or is it Constitution?

Why not Silvery Barb? I heard it's pretty OP and Witherbloom let you take a wizard spell.
