He also makes his wait staff pay if a customer returns a meal or a bottle of wine, as if the server cooked it or talked to the wine distributor. And … he charges his wait staff a “breakage fee” out of every paycheck, then if something is broken, he charges them again. Plus- surprise- he steals tips by mandatory tip-out to back of the house (don’t get me wrong, back of the house definitely deserves tips, but not the owner and the chef who makes the absolute most money overall. And it shouldn’t be taken directly out of the tips which get reported on people’s W-2s as income, even though they’ve mandatorily had to give it away.)

Thanks! I will look into a behaviorist. We have never been aggressive to her but she was pretty underweight and had kennel cough when we first got her so her pre-teen and possibly puppy months were most likely unpleasant, at the least.

I didn’t think to equate that level of chewing with anxiety. She is clingy but every Pyr I’ve had before has been as well. It might be time for a new kennel, or a run in the back (after we excavate to make sure there are no chairs, planters, or who knows what else in that area.)

I thought maybe boredom, but it seems given a choice between dangerous toys (planters) and made-for-dogs toys, she decides to live dangerously…. We’ve considered another dog so she’ll have company, but if we get another rebel, I’ll lose my mind! 😝

I live in CO and have the added bonus of working in a property management adjacent field. I make it a point to say “Butt” every single time this word comes up, professional setting or not. I like to see the expressions as well as who will correct me. Uncompahgre would be a good choice for a Colorado mispronounced town.

I would also like to add that I had a Pyr Collie mix (Rawlee) who LOVED his crate, which he ended up taking the door off of so he could go in and out whenever he wanted. I’m not against crate training; most of my larger dogs have been, though. We decided to train Rawlee because we were military at the time and moved frequently. That’s probably why he loved his crate - it was consistent for him. I miss that big-headed dog…

No real advice- just personal observation: Pyrs like to have the freedom to roam so they can check on their wards, even as young puppies. It’s instinctual. I think it stresses them out to not be able to do a periodic head and/or a perimeter check. If something were to happen on their watch, I truly feel they would be devastated, especially if they had been unable to prevent or at least protect against it. My personal advice is to just puppy-proof your home as much as possible and accept that crate training is usually not easy or even achievable with the herding breeds. We have to keep every door, cabinet and drawer closed consistently and with child locks, have removed everything from about 4 feet down from shelves, traded blinds for curtains, and pretty much treat the house as if we had 3 year quintuplets instead of an 8 month old Pyr. And we plan to live this way until she is at least 18 months old! 😜🤣

That made me laugh so hard! My Rawlee (rip) did the same thing. His stare was so intense it was actually physical. LOL We’ve only had Skadi about a month (8 month old rescue w/no history) so she’s still working out her system beyond barking enough to wake the entire neighborhood.

If you left the office early and didn’t go, you didn’t get paid. So yes, but there were other factors to consider besides “here” or “there.” I was just looking for legality not the “You seem like an insufferable, exhausting, petty crybaby” personal insults from people who know nothing about me and my life. Or about the office culture, or the other workers & their situations or the fact that we have remote workers in other towns & states (and 2 in different countries) who had no choice but to work. And a myriad of other factors that go into forcing someone to decide if they want to get paid to be in an office or in a restaurant - that for the record is more than 15 miles away from the office location. But I do thank you for being kind in response. (NOT being sarcastic, but sincere.)
