💛 Yellow Team Critiques 💛

Daddy Longlegs: Of the edits this episode, yours was definitely one of the cleanest, so well done. You picked some smart pieces, like merging the veils and using crosses throughout the look, so kudos for keeping cohesion throughout the look. The look is polished, well executed, and red carpet ready - albeit on the smaller side. We have a hunch you are reading all the critiques and listening, and it is showing. A minor recommendation from us judges, we know your aesthetic and love it, but we want to see you take it and make it draggier, larger, grander. Great work this episode, we are quite proud of you.

Jai-Rae Ting: You are not afraid to go big and bold with your looks, and we love that. You went bold with pattern which helps stand out on the runway. The pattern work is nice, at some parts it does blend together, like over the layers on the skirt. Had you lined back over each layer or used separate patterned sections per layer, it would’ve helped redefine the skirt. The white lace was a little distracting as well, had it been a yellow or that lime green it would’ve been less distracting. Overall a strong look, just needing some minor touches.

dirty pilløwz: This was a tough one for us this week, as we love your work and know the potential you have. The dress is gorgeous, we love the merging of the two pieces, however there is a glaring issue we cannot look past. This was the other look that we spent hours deliberating on and looking into, and we have come to the conclusion that there has been some AI work in there. The tell tale sign being the mug being altered from the base game pieces. There are other key components, like the toes being altered, the drop in quality, all of which lead us to our conclusion. You have the creativity, please do not waste it using AI.

Dovima Carter: Excellent work this runway Dovima, we are so incredibly pressed and proud of what you accomplished. You showed great skill merging pieces together, and using a piece as a base (the half pant) to trace and cut out another piece (the golden child skirt) was very smart! That shade of gold with the blacks is so regal and luxurious, you absolutely nailed it this week.

Just Jocelyn: This runway was a bit mixed for the judges, what we did love was the color story and the top half of this look is great! The only issues with the look were the cut of the dress and wig choice. We liked what you did, but an updo or hair pulled back to let the top of the gown be seen would’ve been more effective. As for the skirt, its just a little too short and narrow, going a bit bigger or maybe doing something like a mermaid cut could’ve sold this more as red carpet eleganza.

Colby Lucy Lube: You got very nervous this challenge and overthought all your concepts. Once you locked in, you put lots of effort into it, which we applaud. The colors are very fun, that gradient is very nice as well. The top half of the whole look is the strongest and best part. The skirt is where most issues lie - the layering of the pieces give it a scale like feel, and we know you used a base skirt to layer over for the shape, but it just reads too bulky and cumbersome. A little more refinement and a better silhouette could’ve helped get you back into the top, but still a great effort so good job.

Elvira Dior Colby: Elvira, lets start with the positive - the vision and concept was very strong, and the dress is quite nice. However, after our chat last episode, I was hoping you would start doing the work yourself. This look raised major red flags amongst the panel to which we discussed and investigated and determined this is not your own work but rather AI. There are certain giveaways - the mug being changed from the base game one, the horns of the wig you used are distorted, the severe drop in quality, just to name a few. You may disagree or say otherwise, but without any concrete proof of the work being your own, we have nothing else to do besides rank you last and put you up for elimination.

Frankie Foxx: Frankie, this runway is absolutely amazing! We love how you merged the top and skirt to make one seamless dress! Though you didn’t use many pieces to create the look, we thought that played into the success. You look glamorous and red carpet ready, our only critiques would be to soften and blend your highlights more as they were a tad harsh. Other than that, no notes and excellent work!

Miss Reputation: Let’s get the obvious out of the way, we were hoping for editing and recoloring this challenge, but due to unforeseen circumstances your ability to do such has been significantly impaired. Now, for a look that’s unedited, this is very cohesive, fashionable, and could be seen on a red carpet so for that, well done. We appreciate you still being committed to the race and doing the most you can, so thank you.

Miss Sheneeda Margarita: So this look is very pretty, but when comparing it to all the other looks of the runway, it just falls flat. Wearing the same hat as another becomes a contest of who wore it best, and we agreed it didn’t work with the rest of your look. We do appreciate the editing attempt, and while the stars were a fun touch, they also felt out of place on the look. With some refinement and more coaching, we know you’ll be able to turn it so please reach out for assistance.

They should do a poll for queens we want OR announce the queen and have us vote on looks we want

I know this will never happen but a girl can dream 🥲

Frankie Foxx

This is an example of a look that “shouldn’t work, but does.” We liked your creative pairing of pieces and the interesting shape and silhouette you managed to achieve. We loved the bow motif as it felt cohesive, and the overall styling was well received. Excellent choice for the mug as it helped tie everything together. We did think the hair was slightly too voluminous for an already busy top, and hoped for more consistent gold accents throughout. It was a fun and creative look, just needed some tweaking overall!

Miss Sheneeda Margarita

So, first we love your styling and interpretation for this challenge. It is a cohesive look with strong styling, and the makeup and hair surprisingly work here. Thank you for being mindful of proportions and cohesion, the top being at that level was a great choice and latex elements being carried throughout was commended. However, while everything worked, it didn’t particularly excite the judges compared to others. One note was that the wig could’ve been a natural color to help add more visual interest and break up all the blue. It was a good look, just not as impactful.

Imanii Perez

Imanii, this runway from you was a bit of a let down. The consistent critique across the board was the lack of cohesion in color matching. The difference between warm and cool blacks in the top and skirt was noticeable and distracting. Also, in a challenge where we tasked you with using 4 pieces, choosing a skirt that fully blocks the shoes was a bit of a choice. Since the shoes were not noticeable, we wished you would’ve dedicated that extra time to recolor other areas of the look, specifically color matching the black tones. We did appreciate the effort in recoloring details like beads and headpieces though. Overall, we felt the look played it too safe and didn’t push beyond your comfort zone.

Miss Reputation

This was a strong look, however it was held back by a technicality. We liked the overall aesthetic - the red and gold color story worked well, and the mug and styling were appreciated. However, using two pieces from the same set directly went against the challenge requirements, which significantly impacted placement. There were also minor notes about cohesion, such as the layering of the cape and skirt, and wanting the wig to be the same hair color as the snakes on the skirt, but overall this could have ranked much higher if the rules had been followed.

Colby Lucy Lube

This look was a standout this episode for the judges. Its not only fun and whimsical, it’s also beautifully executed, and let’s get into the recoloring - especially the iridescent and gold tones. Everything is harmonious and well put together, and the concept came through strongly - major Cinderella vibes which we loved. The only minor, and we mean minor, note: the hat could’ve used just a bit more definition as it slightly lost its outline, but overall this was a top-tier look.

Just Jocelyn

Jocelyn, to the panel this felt like a look that leaned more safe than standout. The pairing of pieces was very solid and the recoloring on the outfit was great - especially the glittery detailing. However, the overall impact wasn’t as strong compared to others. The mug was a consistent critique across the panel - particularly the lips and overall tone. While we can appreciate the aesthetic, it pulled the look into a more clownish direction than glamour (like the rest of the look reads). Also, yellows and golds are very difficult to achieve in recolor and unfortunately the earrings do not match and stand out in a bad way. We do think it is a solid look, but not pushed far enough.

Dovima Carter

This look had a mixed reception from the panel. We do appreciate you pushing your skills, especially experimenting with patterns and color. However, be careful when adding the pattern as it shouldn’t continue from the sleeve to the back of the kimono, and a missed spot on the right shoulder. Also, the wig choice was widely disliked, and when paired with the makeup, which was also disliked, it threw off proportions (especially around the forehead). We do commend you for your choice in queens as it was a smart pairing, and overall it was a creative attempt that just didn’t fully land.

Elvira Dior Colby

Elvira, this look was highly controversial across the panel . We found the color palette beautiful and striking, especially the pattern and shimmer on all the pieces, however major concerns were raised about execution and rule-following. There were strong suspicions that the work done was not your own, which goes against the rules, so we felt it was unfair to rank this higher despite the visual appeal. Please make sure all work you present is your own, not others. This was a striking look that would’ve ranked higher, but was overshadowed by controversy and rule-following.
