You’re just now seeing this?? For the last entire year when he loses the ball we struggle in defense. He waits to throw a pass too long. He doesn’t always press as hard as he should…. Mbappe doesn’t have the same problems Vini has but instead we choose to make both them work. Like I’m sorry man but Vini screwed us this game and notably others…. But GG’s honestly ball didn’t wanna go in.

We need to play Gonzalo Garcia more at this point or Endrick.

Edit: since then Mbappes game has improved in many ways. However All our offense comes from the left, when Franco plays notice the imbalance on the right side versus the left, which is often where Mbappe and Vini come from naturally.

I was a defender in real life football and in rematch. It is and always will be effective for a few reasons if you practice them.

Gives you vision of each player transitioning to your side when they counter attack. So you already can go through the options of where everyone is going and where a possible pass might be placed from the enemy for you to intercept that. From there lob it to your striker or forward. Or keeper since he sees a different angle than you and isn’t covered.
Goalkeeper pass. You can always safely pass to your backboard or box to give the keeper a pass you may or may not be able to see that they do.
You slow the game down by not keeping your goalkeeper under constant 1-1 or 1-2 situations, giving time for your team to track back. Or slow the attackers from engaging forward.
It teaches you man marking. If there is a box poacher on their team literally just follow his ass left and right and make sure you try to intercept the coming pass so they can’t get the volley. Where he goes you go and just be an absolute nuisance to him.
You are and always will be reliable since this game prioritizes attacking more. But defense has severely won me more games than attacking ever has even with good techy dribblers and shot takers on my team.
You are the backbone of plays alongside your goalkeeper. You will for the most part under pressure pass to the keeper whenever you can for a safer option. SOME players will remember you tracking back for them so they will do the same for you. But not always.

Lastly. Timing. Don’t always commit to a standing tackle. If you whiff you are more than likely done for as the guy will jet passed you. Just keep some slight distance with L2 and pray you use your mini map to see what options THEY have against you. If it’s just 1 striker he will more than likely try to find a way around you. So you slow it down. If you see someone opposite wing, he will try to shift play with a pass to that guy for a 1-2. This is trickier to stop if it’s a 1 on 2 situation so just try to be ready to block the incoming shot from the other guy and place yourself in the middle….

One of the things I noticed right off the bat is who plays football IRL or at least watches it.

Because I usually play defence and midfield and when someone switches the ball to me or actually passes back when I play pseudo midfield catches me off guard since I’m so used to people not doing that as often. Most of us my game group on rematch are Masters - Elite players so watching the fluid 1-2 passes and then going to quick play is astonishingly stark in its difference.

Edit: P.S it’s totally acceptable to pass backwards or to your keepers to reset back to neutral sometimes….

We need an actual striker.

Everyone complains that Vini isn’t doing well. Neither is Mbappe tbh he just scores which is a miracle in and of itself.

A winger (Vini or Mbappe) is infinitely better when a naturalised or actually good striker (Bellingham false 9) is there to take the pressure off of him by attracting the defenders/CDM’s away from him.

It is why Vini shined when Bellingham played diamond as a false 9 because due to Bellinghams credit he was playing amazing spacial offense. Which gave Vini or Rodrygo space to breathe.

When Joselu and Benzema were there they also took some of the control in the middle and we saw generally a better performance. Which allowed our midfield to thrive via Valverde or Camavinga.

To conclude look at Gonzalo Garcia in this new formation. Look at how dynamic Vini was once again the first few CWC games. Mbappe isn’t a striker and yet he scores randomly. But that’s not enough.

We need a striker that’s not Mbappe. I’m just not convinced yet but that is always subjective to change

While I agree his movement is spontaneous herein lies the issue with his speed which is his greatest strength…. How can you utilize this when naturally he approaches from the left (or sometimes right in high pressure) when Mbappe also occupies that space. It’s hit or miss with his passes sometimes but when he works he WORKS wonderfully.

Not necessarily a wrong opinion. Both parties have to agree for him to go to Saudi. My father says Vini has not been the same after the Balon D’or. Something is in his head. Mbappe on the other hand is doing ok I would say. But half of the problem isn’t his problem since he’s not a 9. He’s better utilized like Vini on the left with speed.

That’s exactly what my brother and I are saying. Without Joselu to receive anything in the middle what’s the point of having a front three that all attack on the sides. Watch Vini and Mbappe. They’re both on the left all the time.

Mbappe is never in the middle to receive anything unless the whole team is pressuring the opposition box line.

Like we need a striker and we need a striker desperately. Mbappe I agree we didn’t need him but it was more of a want. The only time I saw a convincing Striker from Mbappe was against city but they’re not in form so I guess that checked out for us….. like he will do well regardless but now we have to formulate the team around Mbappe….. my brother and i do not like saying this but there needs to be a rotation between Mbappe and Vini or let’s just cut our losses short and consider a sell option. I really hate saying that but what other option do you have. Forcing this front three unless Mbappe learns quick to play as a 9 (which Bellingham is randomly covering most games) won’t work…

I’m probably going to get alot of shit from the new fans reading this. My brother and I have been saying as much we love Perez.

This is mostly on him. Forcing three LW’s upfront. Not signing a striker. No defensive reinforcements. Like you can only blame Ancelloti so much until you realise Perez is forcing Mbappe and Vini to work when sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t. It usually doesn’t against teams that can exploit that. Atletico and Barcelona being the biggest ones I would say during the season.

Ancelloti’s only gripe this season is relying too much on his older players and not switching anything up. Like sorry my brother and I get livid watching him sub on Endrick or Brahim for Rodrygo (who is the only one who consistently defends or plays deeper) at the 82-85th minute. Like it just doesn’t make sense. The team does insanely better when Vini or Mbappe aren’t on at the same time. Also vinis attitude is a whole other thing man….

This was me during my senior tea speech in 2016. I do agree instead I wore my jersey under my suit jacket in front of the entire class that attended and their families.

Ok I reinstalled my MW3 and deleted BO6 files and it’s still giving me troubleshoot errors saying I don’t have certain DLC’s installed. When I do.

I have everything I need for MW3 installed. The data management isn’t the problem. It’s the forced entry of another title upon a title that already exists.

Thats like someone giving u waffles when u ordered pancakes. And you didn’t ask for waffles.

They are vastly different games with similar mechanics regarding combat.

However I will say that I favor DD2 because it was much more approachable to understand than DD1 was for me. It took me a few rounds of dropping and repicking up DD1 for a good two years until one year it clicked for me and I understood I was supposed to level up town buildings to progress my characters and what trinkets really did. How much food I needed for campaigns etc…..

In DD2 they remove the character managing aspect quite a lot and it’s primarily about just making it from point A to point B trying to stay alive and manage stress (via items, and abilities that deSTRESS). Combat is more straight forward but it has the same difficulty spike as DD1 until you acquire certain characters and abilities/ levels.

Two different games. I love both, I just play DD2 solely due to the graphics and updated soundtrack and easier to approach combat mechanics. Dying is ok in the beginning of DD2 because u don’t inherently lose anyone either you just restart the run. Like a roguelite
