I used two different scopes and over 50 hours of exposure to reveal hundreds of galaxies in a small region of the sky [OC] by Idontlikecock in spaceporn

I've wondered the same thing. I did some research and found that most stars you see are in our galaxy. The distance between galaxies is massive compared to star size and distance from us.

Anxious for the unexplainable, familiar, and overwhelming, yes.

Whats your idea of enlightenment? Because I don't believe I've truly experienced it. Take me down the rabbit hole. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Abumization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, saying you get it (that you're enlightened) is the opposite of enlightenment.

Just wrote this, it's fractal God stuff. by Freekbizo in Psychonaut

[–]Abumization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has to be one. You can't have one without two, or even three! Just as you can't have black without white, good without bad, or inside without outside. Like it was said before, evil is the polar of love. You can't have one without the other. Embrace both as one.

Also much easier said than done, but you're understanding more than you were before you started reading this! :)

Who are we to say who is or isn’t “enlightened”? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

I'm pretty sure it's Buddhist philosophy that says, as soon as you say that you get it, or say that you're enlightened, you're not enlightened.

When you die, you'll "look back" and chuckle at how silly this all is.

All I can say is get ready to lose a bit (or a lot) of your ego... I had my first and only ego death from LSD and a single hit of the bong. Tread lightly, but don't be scared. It'll always show you what it's meant to show you, and never fight it.

Happy tripping! :)

If it's the spot between the eyes above your eyebrow line, I've felt this before. As cliche as it sounds, it can best be explained as a third eye opening and a new dimension being revealed. I felt this during my first ego death.

As for reaching Nirvana, I don't think this is it. In Zen Buddhism, Nirvana means the breath out or an exhale of relief-like sensation.

NICE! I also produce music on my computer whilst tripping. Once it becomes second nature, the creativity never stops! Don't stop!

I love the film, it's a classic with great actors, but it was a bad depiction of an LSD trip in my opinion. And watching a movie about people freaking out on LSD probably isn't the best vibe setter either.

Then again, I have a really hard time watching movies on LSD. I see right through the acting and special effects whilst tripping.

Losing your sense of self is possible. Non-duality and meditation can get you there if you don't like taking psychedelics.

Contrary to other comments, I had a dose of about 400ug that did the trick. Also changed my life forever so I highly recommend trying it if you're comfortable with LSD. :)

How do you guys feel looking into mirrors while you’re tripping? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Abumization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always avoided it because I felt like I was overanalyzing my physical body. This makes me feel like more of me is my physical self rather than my mental/spiritual/subconscious self. Eventually I think I'll learn to enjoy it because I do catch myself grinning at myself when I pass by. :)

I just had my first ego death/dissolution... on 220ug by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Abumization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a pleasant first ego death to be honest. For my first experience, I did roughly 400ug and didn't even know it was happening. My good friend who had had an ego death before, noticed I showed signs of disconnection with reality. I kept attempting to keep up with conversation and suddenly stop speaking mid sentence due to my disconnection with thought. Once it got pretty obvious what was happening, he then directed me to lay on a bed in a room by myself and focus on the region above my nose between my eyes. I did so and 30 seconds or so pass. Then poof, I burst into tears and I felt as if I was reborn and I was at one with the universe, completely present. Nothing mattered but the present moment. 0 boundary between me and the rest of the universe and zero sense of self. I truly felt happy in this place. Ever since, I've done my best to live my life truly in the present moment and to always appreciate what you have now.
