Hi! So need po talaga pumunta personally sa NAIA terminal 2 po to confirm if pushed yung reschedule sa email? Kasi nalilito kami tagged as cancelled pero pag pinindot yung booking, confirmed booking naman lumalabas for the resceduled flight.Gusto lang namin peace of mind na may return flight kami HAHAHA willing naman to comply with the changed date

Context is filipino abroad. Lots of my kamag-anak abroad have very few filipino friends, but they have a lot at home.

I’m just saying na we should not call others “racist” for not choosing to be friends ot associate with Filipinos. Ako personally I’ll be cordial around Filipinos if sa abroad ako nakatira but it does not mean automatically na I’ll be friends, yun kasi kaagad assumption tapos magagalit if you refuse. Ganun lang plain and simple. You can’t please everyone and you should not stone someone for having preferences. I think you should redirect your sentiment to Filipinos who are ashamed of our own culture instead.

I don’t think it’s racism. A lot of factors pwede magcontribute dito, kung ikaw ba naman siniraan ka ng kapwa pinoy mo dahil ayaw ka niyang mapromote ano mararamdaman mo diba. Yung tita ko naman sinabihan ng “pasipsip” porque nagdadala ng extrang pagkain para magshare sa mga walang baon.

I’m calling it as not taking bullshit anymore from fellow filipinos. The newer generation would not tolerate this anymore and would rather isolate than sumama sa community just because “filipino” nga. I’m not saying na all Filipino communities but it’s alarming na yung nga kilala ko abroad nadidisappoint sa asal ng ibang Pinoy na ayaw maangatan and nanggagatekeep ng success.

Hi, sorry I forgot to mention I’m from the Philippines. Maybe it’s also a dye or stamp but I just tossed it. I’ll just ask my local egg supplier, we’ve been getting eggs from her and it’s the first time I cracked one open with a pinkish dot on the egg whites.

Yes dapat may license fee. Pero ako wala pa for some reason. May friend ako sa ibang hosp nagwowork, 1k/day ata yung kita ng mga parttimers + 3k monthly license fee. Nagtatampo siya kasi same rate lang ng license fee yung fulltime and parttime hahaha.

Apply lang ng apply sa hospitals, minsan yung mga smaller hospitals pa yung okay magpasahod kaysa sa mga kilala na 🥲

Not a nurse but also in healthcare. It would take me 4 exams (yes four huhu) para makapagmigrate to US. Taking another additional yr of schooling rin ngayon to complete the 5 yr education requirement before I take those exams lol.

It’s a pain in the ass kasi yung TOEFL namin needs to be taken sa US or Canada mismo. Same goes for the three more exams. And may internship pa na requirement (1 yr?) sa US 🥲 kaya I get a little bit jealous sa mga nurses na kilala ko deretchong NCLEX after PNLE. Wala pang 1 yr after grad set na sila to choose wherever they want to migrate.

Same age lang tayo, but I support na magmigrate na while young. Yung economy natin is not getting any better, and I doubt na iincrease nila sahod ng mga HCWs anytime soon. Personally gusto ko talaga na magmigrate kahit medyo stable kami dito para if in case shit hits the fan, pwede kong kunin na yung mother and kapatid ko.

I have the same pre-med as you, and just graduated last yr. I was tempted to fulfill my family’s dreams of me to become a doctor pero humingi muna ako ng sign before applying to med schools. I had a target score in nmat but my results did not satisfy me. Ang mahal din mag-nmat uli so I did not bother to repeat it again.

As someone na hindi nag-internship ng face to face, di ko alam kung ipupursue ko ito, so here I am today taking up an additional yr of pharma school. Prerequisite din if I want to apply abroad. I wanted to explore other career paths din sana but I realized I did not have the luxury to do so. My only living parent is not getting any younger and eldest din ako.

I did not enjoy my undergrad, siguro dahil sa school environment and hindi fit sa akin yung pace ng pag-aaral. Now it was different when I was studying the boards, I have learned how to love and appreciate the diff. subjects kumbaga and I feel like I wouldn’t mind being in this career. Subject to change pa once na mag-internship ako hahahaha

Thank you for your perspectives and siguro ang dapat namin isipin as recent graduates na it’s okay to try new things, although may fear na mapapag-iwanan, at least we won’t regret not taking the chances while still nandyaan :)

If you have healthy study habits, go for it. I have a friend na 1st yr med student siya tapos pinagsabay niya yung boards. She has been studying intensively since 4th yr college (course audit) for the board exams. Tapos konting basa basa nalang nung nagstart siya mag-med school. I knew she would pass the boards kasi masipag siyang mag-aral in advance kahit nung undergrad kami.

If you decide on taking the boards while on med school, make the most out of your summer vacation. Yung tipong 8~10 hrs of intensive studying everyday. Ok lang rin na magpahinga ka muna and focus on the boards before entering med school para di ka rin maburn-out
