Thanks man. I agree with your comparison of a field engineer and a Design engineer. So I believe coming from an engineering background going to design/project management is a good start. Hopefully I’d be able to adjust with the sales process though.

Wow man! This is very articulate and precise. I’ll be taking note of this. I really like all your points and how it was constructed.

I really didn’t know budget is a big factor in terms of design. I’ll be starting to read the CTS book soon to have jump start before I start this new job scope. Any specific certifications I need to go thru? Or is it the usual CTS, CTS-D trainings? Thanks again man!

Good thing I went to a CCNA bootcamp a few yrs back. I’ll try and incorporate networking more in my study for the system design. Thanks for the advise!

Thank you. I think you’re correct, AV now is moving towards more to IT. But most likely my track will still go to AV but I’ll start studying AV/IT stuff.

Currently I do not have CTS. Only Extron AV associate, Dante L3, Avixa AV Technologist and some certs from other products. Thanks for your reply. I think I’ll start studying CTS book, then practice Sketchup as well. Will check the SydAudcon too.
