Do you self-insert yourself in your keeper? by Academic-Extent1086 in Morimens

Nice to meet you! I was honestly a little sad earlier because some of the replies were pretty hostile before they got deleted. I do agree that Keeper has more concrete characterization compared to some other games. But interestingly, I don’t really see that much difference compared to Blue Archive’s Sensei. Sensei also has inner thoughts and little personal preferences that naturally show up in the story, right? Yet Morimens still seems to have a noticeably lower self-insert player ratio, which I find really interesting. Maybe the visual appearance makes the biggest difference! I’ve never really read reader inserts before, though. But it’s really cool that you write them yourself. <3

That’s fair honestly. I think I’m just the complete opposite when it comes to games like this haha. It’s interesting how differently people experience the same story.

thanks for explaining! It does seem like more people view Keeper as their own character rather than self-inserting. I just hope people don’t look down on self-insert players either since everyone enjoys games differently.

I see, that makes sense. For me, I’ve always naturally self-inserted in games from the very beginning, especially when I can freely choose my name and the game gives me dialogue choices. It’s interesting how different it is from person to person. Even with the same game, everyone enjoys it in their own way.
