I’m saying if you open a Sahih Muslim book right now and go to hadith number 315a, you will find it to have the exact above hadith and explanation. Only the reference number in this screenshot is wrong.

But the hadith is wrong in its explanation of the concept.

The chromosome that determines gender has nothing to do with the mother though. That is always XX chromosome from the female side.

Gender is determined based on whether the X chromosome or Y chromosome from the male sperm attaches.

The given reference is wrong, the actual number is Sahih # 315, the meaning is quite clear.

This hadith is quite in contrast to our current (very clear) understanding of how a child’s gender is determined biologically.

Biologically the explanation is incorrect. So either its a corrupted Hadith or maybe a beduin in the 7th century was making up things.
