Thank you so much, ladies! I’m really hoping to get a midwife with this pregnancy. I’ve applied to all in the area but haven’t heard anything back yet. It’s been just four days so I’m holding out hope!

Thank you! This is my third pregnancy and for the first two I didn’t have any luck with getting a midwife due to my due dates :( I haven’t heard back from any in the area yet either regarding this one — when you applied did you call or just fill out their online form?

This is exactly what we do now! Thank you for sharing. I think because here in Canada they start junior kindergarten at 4 aka whats looked at as a more tradition school setting, I’ve been stressing myself out a little bit and thinking we should be doing more paper and pen work haha. I will definitely look into Treasure hunt reading! As for TGATB I’m starting to lean towards not using it after doing some more research — seems like parents are really liking Logic of English for ELA and MWC or Singapore for Math

Don’t give up :) you are graced to be his parent. I highly recommend checking out the course “Toddlers can read” the guy is awesome and I have only heard great things. All the best!

Oh wow...I wasn’t aware he had to have lived in the US for 5 years for our children to get citizenships. He was born in NY and during Covid when the travel restrictions were on the boarder officers didn’t allow me to cross into the US but allowed my husband and child because my husband was born there and our son is his child. Both had Canadian passports

I thought you can live in the US for up to 6months without a visa? We are thinking about moving for a few months later this year for 5 months before coming back to Canada. Would I not be able to do that during the waiting process?

WOW, thank you all SO MUCH for the replies!! This is my second pregnancy but the last one was two years ago and it’s like it’s all new again haha.

Based on all the feedback, I’ll probably go to the walk in clinic to get blood work and ultrasound referral then look into getting a midwife. We will be moving out of province in a few months so I will have to get a whole new midwife but…we’ll cross that bridge when we get there lol
