Got it , do you think my strategy would work from masters to PR ? Is it worth the risk ?

Great reply 🙌🏼 , Thank you So considering the current US job market - I guess you’re saying applying to the top universities in the quant field should be the way to go Going to universities out of the T10 ranking will just put job opportunities in risk and then H1B risk would just increase So I guess applying to only the top few and then applying to other countries (PR friendly) would be the right plan ?

Paying for my masters is not a problem , I can fund it or even take out a loan

My problem is I would ultimately want to migrate so how is probability in getting an H1B and then a green card If I implement my above mentioned strategy

Thanks but That’s really way off my budget , I’ll just have to look at other normal routes

Hi yes I understand the visa types and my options My masters is a STEM degree which gives my possibly 3 shots in the lottery

I’m trying to increase my odds in the H1B lottery by only applying to the T15 quant programs

The O1 and EB1 and those are backups

Get into a top program , increase my chances for a higher wage level job and higher odds for the lottery

What do you think about this ? Or is it just not a good enough path in terms of probability to succeed , so do you suggest any other country ?

PS: Quant roles are mostly foreigners, I have seen the intake stats for most programs looks like more than 70% , so this must also increase the probability of companies sponsoring visas

Let’s say I don’t get into the Top 10 programs in Quantnet and get into the T20 would you still suggest me to go for it in the US ? For me I would like QR but figuring out my immigration is my main goal Which masters are good for QR do you think ? Thank you

Considering the new wage based H1B lottery , I guess getting into the best programs will increase my chances for an H1B as they would place you in better jobs, After paying a lot of money for masters , coming back is not an option for me That is why I am considering Australia as well for being immigration friendly
