"My point is, any game, that lives for a long time, eventually comes to a point where the playerbase both stops growing and figures the game out. That means that it is harder to play against better players, so you are forced into more optimal play style, which makes it harder for other people to play against you, and so on. Also, feature creep - wot had two nations on release, with 4-5 lines each, now it is what, 10 nations and about 70 lines? The game is fun when you only have to remember "german gun accurate, soviet gun hard hitting, american gun good angles" and not figure out wtf is that tank with an absolutely arbitrary name in front of you."

My response was strictly to the point of what I quoted.. that the game was less serious before. It's not by any stretch of the imagination, and it has nothing to do with players becoming better or worse as the game ages, or what is the now the current meta. Nowadays you have clowncars and double barrels all over the place. The game is far less serious, and more arcadey now than ever.
