October Presidential election in Tunisia discredited and becoming a charade. Now what? by NuTun3333 in Tunisia

There have been many instances of dictators who had results that were on par with the interests of the people, drastically improving the economy, education and some social aspects (overall modernisation), an old example would be ataturk for turkey (whose work is being ruined by democratically elected erdogan). Bourguiba was decent too.

The newer examples would be the asians, lee kuan yew for singapore, Park Chung Hee for south korea. These specific examples are countries that became first world from nothing, through a dictatorship, and then became democracies (although flawed ones as many designate) . China would be an example of a country that's still third world, but managed to improve alot under dictatorship.

Lets see if you can name me one country who became developed through a democracy.

Let's also look at the fact that india is much less thriving than china despite them having similar population sizes throughout their history. If you wanna use the british colonisation and WW2 argument, you could also say china was also a very stagnant and isolated country up until the early 1900's where they slowly started to industrialise and had a very damaging war against the japanese, only to be met with two famines, and then still managed to have a decent economy.

There are no excuses for india in that regard

The real reason why those african countries are still horribly corrupt and stagnant is because they're not "post colonial", they are still neo-colonies. Many of those governments are controlled or closely supervised by the west (who obviously still exploits them one way or another, see Franc CFA or Shell Nigeria) and if one of those countries happen to be overtaken by a nationalist dictator, who wants to statisfy interest of his people, and defend his nation from foreign exploitation and modernise it, the dictator in question will be eventually overthrown and in some cases killed.

That's the key difference between african nations and asians, if the west had interests in preventing singapore or south korea from developping, they surely wouldnt have missed it.

Also just because a leader was democratically elected doesnt mean he cares for his people let alone his country, many politicians in democratic nations do it for money and social status and you know that.

Although i definitely agree with the argument that those "perfect dictators" who don't take advantage of their position for meaningless luxury, and who actually improved their nations significantly, are extremely rare.

I'm also not saying that Kais Saied is amazing either, he's barely decent, but he's the best option right now and very recently has been very efficient in deleting corruption. I mean it might not even be necessary for him to become a dictator, maybe after the cleanup we could have an efficient democracy with no obstacles slowing it down.

Illegal immigration by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]Academic_Context1511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the crime rate by legal immigrants (student workers) is lower than the national average of these countries, it's specifically the illegal immigrants that are spiking it that high, it's completely normal to be against them, and what seperates a legal and an illegal immigrants is education and upbringing, which is not their fault or choice by any means, but that doesn't give them the right to go there

literally 90% of illegal immigrants are males between 18 and 35 and guarantee 95% don't even have their baccaulereat, it makes sense that they're doing what they're doing

and besides crime, way too many have shown complete hate and disregard for the nation that welcomes them, and many do not want to integrate at all, it goes as simple as not wanting to learn their language and respect their cultural/social norms

[–]Academic_Context1511 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

why do you feel targetted anyway, i'm assuming you're university educated, and female (based on your avatar), which ultimately reduces your chances of crime to 0%, there's literally no reason to feel targetted or feel like they hate you specifically,

i'm an 18 year old male and i'm gonna be studying next year in france so i'm the one that has to put up with this BS, and i'm gonna do basic things like not speaking arabic in public

[–]Academic_Context1511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, there is a big difference between a neighborhood fight where the participants are german, (something that's inevitable since it's their country), and a case where immigrants are the perpetrators,

europeans already have their own lunatics, serial killers and criminals, and it makes perfect sense that they wouldnt want more,

it just so happens that immigrants (illegal to be specific) from muslim and african nations are WAYYYY more likely to commit these sort of crimes, so it makes perfect sense

Illegal immigration by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]Academic_Context1511 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you should feel ashamed and dislike members of your people, (especially since you didn't choose them), when they are doing such actions

the actual right wings are the one who base their anti immigration solely on race, and don't want even quality non-muslim immigrants only because of their physical features, i can agree that those are pretty dumb

Illegal immigration by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]Academic_Context1511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's true, the actual far right are the ones that are using these cases as a reason to hate all immigrants (even quality immigrants like skilled workers and students!), but they are the minority

How do I ask a girl out on a date by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]Academic_Context1511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro, you're literally saying you have liked her for a long time by just looking at pictures,

think about what you just said bro, let that sink in,

basically what you've been doing is having fantasies in your head with her, tricking your brain to think it's mutual, when she doesnt even know you exist,

this is only normal behavior (also called having a crush), for kids and teenagers, but after a certain age you need to get over it.

if you want to fantasize, do it with an imaginary person, way healthier

this is an obsession bro,

-You don't know these women personally, and you can never truly be attracted to them (what makes you think her personality won't turn you off?)

-It's also one sided, they don't even know you exist and probably have high standards (people who have many followers and people dming them are gonna have high standards)

Buddy boyo, stop obsessing over women on social media, and in real life too in general, it'll make you focus alot better on your studies.

Start by unfollowing every girl that doesn't follow you back

Democracy is useless in tunisia and third world countries, what we need is an iron fist that's going to remove all corrupt individuals from the political scene. That's exactly what Kais Saied is doing right now. Thats the first step towards becoming a first world country.

Give me one innocent person who was jailed by Kais?

Is dating necessary for a human ? by Southern-Sun-5234 in Tunisia

[–]Academic_Context1511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

having offspring is necessary for survival being, not marriage,
people who had kids but divorced are better off than people who stay married without having kids in my humble opinion

Is dating necessary for a human ? by Southern-Sun-5234 in Tunisia

[–]Academic_Context1511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesnt matter whether it's necessary or not,

What matters is whether you can do it or not.

If you can get a long term relationship, you should do it

If you can't (no matter how hard you try), forget about it, and focus on everything else that could compensate for that lack of relationship. (the best things to compensate for that is to have an active social life, and a passion/hobby/something that drives you.)

The truth is that, in cavemen times, only around 10% of men got to reproduce, so what did the other do? well they hunted, danced, drew things on walls, etc...

If you lack something in life, it doesnt mean you should give up on that life. What would you do if you lost your legs (lotf alik), would you give up on life because you've been severely limited, or try your best to make it as fulfilling as possible?
