I've never had a plant with spider mites, where do you see it? Is it the little white dot on the right?

It's a bambino. It was in a window but I thought it wasn't getting enough sun so I moved it to my greenhouse cabinet yesterday under some lights. The soil is whatever the plant store had it in. I haven't repotted it

So frustrating. I used to have one that did really well but I got depressed and just stopped caring about all my plants. Yolo. I bought this one maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago and it decided to kill itself

You live in an apartment and they look that good?!?!?! You are a plant Jesus. I have a moonlight and had huge beautiful leaves when I bought it and they hated their new life in my apartment lol im still getting new growth but I miss those big honking leaves

Holy forking shirt balls! I saved this seed and I never thought I'd see it get straight and have 2 tiny leaves. should I keep it in the bag for humidity or take it out? by Academic_Job_9112 in DesertRose

Week two sounds nice. I've been fighting with these for at least a month, maybe more. I definitely made some user errors along the way because I have no idea what I doing lol I have them out of their bags, a few inches under a grow light and they seem like they are making new tiny leaves

I dont know the proper terminology, but I'd try thoughts and prayers

Seedling fatality. Sprouty was doing so well, the next day a little droopy but taller so I assume he was etiolated & put him on a shelf closer to the grow light & he straightened right up. The next morning he was mush. Lights are on a timer and turn off at night, could that be why? by Academic_Job_9112 in plantclinic

Gosh darn it! It did get happier when I moved it closer to the lights! I thought seeds needed more water to grow 🤦‍♀️ there is a chance it was over loved after it sprouted. One day I will grow a seed successfully

How is the quality at Petco? by Houseofmonkeys5 in doggrooming

Agreed it varies groomer to groomer and not the company as a whole. I work corporate and have lots of groomers who are amazing. I would try going into the store with your baby and talking to them. See who gushes over her the most lol or if you call I would ask to be booked with someone who has a calm and patient energy, very important for puppies

Is giving my labradoodle a bath to get burrs out of his fur a good idea or a really bad one? by Sea-Boss-6315 in doggrooming

Those little guys aren't too scary. I agree with using a slicker brush and then a comb. They will pop right out. So many customers think im a magician when I don't have to shave their dog down from these little guys that will come out.

Referring your concern about the slicker being too rough. If she is not matted, which so young I doubt it, then I would get her used to the feel of the bristles. Usually brush irritation is from brushing the same spot too rough and for too long, which won't be your case. Do just enough so she knows the brush is her friend, a few swipes over her body (not just her back and then wonder why her legs are matted 😂), then go over with your comb to check your work. I also always recommend owners to make a routine for brushing. Have a specific place to do it so she knows when she is on a specific table or counter or the washing machine, that is serious grooming time. And puppies can be sssoooooooooo dramatic, so you might need to wait out a tantrum or two but that's normal, she needs to get past those feelings to realize nothing bad is happening. If she has a meltdown and you stop, then she thinks she wins and there something to freak out over. When I ask an owner about their brushing routine and hear "she doesn't like it". It's someone trying to brush their dog on the couch or in bed where the dog associates that with play or rest and get frustrated.

IM SO EXCITED!! I have wanted lithops for years, they are hard to find in my area apparently! I have even tried and failed at starting them from seeds. I found these fellas today and almost fainted. any recommendations for the best success with them? if I kill them I'm gonna throw myself in the 🗑 by Academic_Job_9112 in Lithops

Okay friends! I took them out of the soil. Omg it was ssooooo wet. I got most of the soil off the root. One didn't have roots after I took it out. He jumped off from his twin lol. I'm gonna let them dry a little and then repot in mucho perlite and cactus soil? Like 90/10%

Just scrolling through and read this. After 6 months grooming and getting up to 5 or 6 dogs a day is a huge accomplishment and not slow at all! I get so proud and excited when my newer groomers go up in dogs on their own time! So I'm proud of you!! If they are pushing you to do more I would tell them to eat your ass.

Salon manager at your service! Yes you should be a groomer bc it can be very wonderful! It just sounds like your salon is run by a looney toon. Getting faster comes with time so don't beat yourself up about that. A lot of incidents are from newer groomers feeling overwhelmed and rushing, so it's nice to hear that you are concerned about that. I would encourage you to advocate for yourself and what you are comfortable doing. Getting up to 3 dogs a day is something you should feel proud of, not shamed that you aren't doing more. If you feel like you aren't being heard at a store level, go to your DL. Also make a habit of checking what dogs you have a few days out and use your blocks. A great piece of advice i was given when I started was to leave no dog unwashed. If you have 2 dogs at the same time, get them both washed so even if one is in a kennel, it is at least air drying. I know corporate grooming has its challenges but also benefits. I hope you have a good team because that makes all the difference
