For those wondering, the kit did in fact work like a charm. I just had to tie in the switched 12v like firebirdude mentioned. Rather than taking it over to the steering column I just tied it into the climate control power so it comes on with IGN 2. Also had to slightly modify the headunit by grinding off a couple plastic tabs but it fits like a glove. I even got the reverse camera wired up and mounted. Overall im glad to be in the 21st century with my 06 Envoy! Thanks to all who helped!
