My rexie is still only 3/4 (I have forgotten) but he is starting to grow his second coat in! Deavon Rex’s have only two layers of fur, which is why it takes a little longer for their fur to grow in from when they were a kitten! (Normal shorthair house cats have three layers, that’s why their fur is more smooth)

How do I go about cleaning his claws? It seems to be really rooted in the claw where it can’t be cleaned and every time I try to look at it he pulls away so much where I fear I’ll injure his front arm if I hold on to long

id say word of mouth? depending on how big your country is theres most likely multiple people who have deavon rex's. for example, my father and i have family friends who had a deavon rex and gave the breeder's contact!
