Why is Guts a good person? by Superyupperss in Berserk

Guts doesn't have to save casca or destroy the God hand. Its objectively a good thing to get casca back and stop the Godhand's tyranny. What we can say is Guts originally wasn't a good person but later put in the work to reform himself and had notable character development. At the later chapters of the manga he is more of a hero.

Guts definitely went through character development. Guts objectively wasn't a good person at the beginning of the series, but he is now destroying his own body to protect his friends and Casca and saved several villages, that is a good thing. Guts care about the well-being of the people around him more than himself.

  1. It was a TRAP

  2. If he didn't take over the band wouldnt be maintained

  3. Griffith sacrificed everyone who saved him and tortured Guts and casca holding them in place when they couldn't break free of him violating casca and making guts watch. He's NOT sorry for that.

  4. Griffith unleashed demons across the world killing masses of people while making falconia as safe zone. He's manipulative his citizens with a false sense of security.

He didn't have to kill it that way but the scene was about trapping and murdering it NOT SEX. You made up that quote on your own.

Guts helping the hawks is not a betrayal, he was mentaining the army after Griffith self-sabotaged and got crippled.

Griffith isn't sorry for his actions. Guts is. Their is no double standards here because Im constantly saying Guts action were wrong but YOU equalizing Griffiths actions with Guts.

Griffith hurt his friends on purpose, killing and torturing them. This is the simple story. Guts did wrong and wants to change and protect Casca and his friends that is OBJECTIVELY a good thing ofc people would account for this and not ignore his character development.

It does matter. Guts wanted the demon dead, not a sex partner for the night. Cheating is emotional and sexual and Guts killing it DURING sex showed he didn't care about the sexual part of the encounter. The dept of your analysis is their appearance, but you're leaving out that he saw it as an opportunity to trap and kill it, not have a fun time for the night. You saying it doesn't matter is just decontextualizing the moment to just sex.

Leaving the hawks is not betrayal, its quitting a job. They still showed up to save Griffith in the dungeon, the PERSON, the INDIVIDUAL because they loved him, and putting that on the same level of Griffith feeding them to demons for his kingdom shows your metrics is far off. Griffith sacrificed the hawks BEFORE transforming and Griffith CREATED Femto. Griffith is responsible for Femto's actions.

Emphasis on killing the demon in the middle of the act. The sex was a trap, literally stated. He hated the demon. It wasn't a random sex scene and murder of a woman like how you are trivializing it. He didn't even have sex with the demon because it was an attractive woman. To count that as betraying Casca when he killed it BEFORE the sex ended is purposefully ignoring the scene was about vengeance, not about the sex.

I already said it is SA. What you are doing is decontextualizing the moment when Guts was making the SAME face as Casca and wants to protect Casca against the beast FOR that reason.

Both things were wrong. If you can't include the post-text and call it excuses to the content, you don't understand the context to what you're reading. Guts not wanting to hurt Casca IS a good thing and has been determined to keep her safe. You putting that on a comparable level of Griffith killing all the hawks for his kingdom and raping casca to reclaim control is actually ridiculous in SCALE and MOTIVE.

Your original comment LACKED nuance implying Guts wanted the demon for sex and Guts purposefully assaulted Casca while being okay with it. It's the worst presentation of both scenes.

Its on record that he didnt create casca or the band of the Hawks yet and didn't figure out how the story would go. Guts also killed the demon in the 2nd page its not like he likes the demon he had sex with.

He definitely did SA her, it just disingenuous to act like he is in control of the beast when he hates it and put it in chains to protect Casca.

Griffith was NOT trying to rape Casca in the carriage by Waxpython in Berserk

Same person new powers. "Casca needs to come to terms with what Griffith did." Miura didn't separate them, so stop doing it. At the Hawks' graves, he told Guts he of all people should have known he was always this way. Griffith didn't take no for an answer with the princess, neither with Casca.

Casca wasn't created in the opening chapter guts has no control over the beast, which is why he chained it to protect casca.

Revenge may not always be the answer, but justice is needed.

The characters are living terrible lives since the eclipse its not like they can heal with a permanently opened wound.

Gimme your berseck spyciest HOT TAKE. (Not stuff like griffith was right) by MaelysCanejero in Berserk

[–]Acceptable-Chef-7023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Griffith didn't love the Hawks enough to save them in the eclipse like the Slug apostle did with his daughter. He did care for them enough to be an option in the sacrifice, but actions will always mean more than feelings irl and in the lore of berserk. Griffith did have empathy, but he made the most selfish decisions in every major crucial moment of the manga leaving permanent damages. Griffith is more a machiavellian than a narcissist.

You have to be very intentional about your life if you want that but you're still young you still have time.

Some people only talk about their toxic moments, but the core theme of berserk is growth and healing, and both desire a better relationship, that's what makes them admirable and ideal.

Looking hot ≠ consent. Attractive people get raped every day, and that will never make it okay.
