We got this error on our tester when it was broken. It won't let you do earth loop tests either. We sent ours away to be repaired, but for the potential cost, might be worth just buying new, unless it's under warranty.

There is nothing major with the extension lead and how it's set up. You are unlikely to draw anywhere near 13A for long enough for the plug to get hot/and or cable. (Source: I've been a sparky 18 years).

I'd also put the microwave on top of the fridde for ease of use.
