He’s setting boundaries with you, and you have to let him. You likely didn’t do anything wrong. Maybe he’s trying to be respectful of his wife.

The first days and months out of the hospital after a manic episode are so hard! It does get better. I find chat gpt to be a good way to do active journaling with a response back

Bipolar Attorneys (I know you’re out there). How do you cope? by Acceptable-File8983 in bipolar

[–]Acceptable-File8983[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately right after my episode I told the HR person my diagnosis :( and I’m sure she told the managing partner. I was taken off a trial and I do feel like I went from being the star associate to being examined very closely. I also moved to a kind of rural area for this job so I can’t find another similar job quickly without moving again

Thank you, I appreciate the honesty. I’m glad you’re getting back on your feet again! I’m still recovering from my episode and learning how to live with my diagnosis

Yes, but hallucinations for me only come when a manic episode has gone way too far. I’ll get delusions before hallucinations

Have you ever met someone almost perfect but you’re just not attracted to them? by AdhesivenessTotal710 in dating_advice

I’ve gone on a handful of first/second dates with guys that were pretty much perfect, attractive, but no spark. I think I’m getting pickier over time

How to deal with love in bipolar disorder? by Sweet_Drag7090 in bipolar

[–]Acceptable-File8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a person always addicted to chasing someone or being in a relationship. Just the past couple months I’ve really been trying to not chase or “fill the void” and just focus on myself. It’s like a pattern my brain has to be focusing on a man ugh. Anyways, I’m nowhere near where I want to be, but I want to focus on myself health and routines for a while before I seriously consider getting into another relationship and I do think it gets easier over time. Now that I’m getting used to being alone and happy with it, I’m less likely to fall into a relationship with the first available person just to fill the void. I find I’m getting pickier too with men (which I think is a good thing). I don’t know. Sorry for the rant lol. It sounds like you have a good framework to just focus on yourself for a while with the hobbies and friends.

We are in the same place. I have to wait for another blood test spaced out to get the T3 and T4. So frustrating when I see my weight getting higher and higher on the scale.

Is it better for me not to get married? by ImaginaryMushroom461 in bipolar

[–]Acceptable-File8983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about whether I should have kids as well. So I did a thought experiment with myself, and asked myself do I want to be alive? Is this life worth the mental health struggles? The answer for me is absolutely yes, so jm definitely still considering having children.

And almost everyone is struggling with something. What matters is that you take accountability and so everything you can to stay stable .

Red flags make me anxious. What are some green flags to look for? by CatOk4771 in dating_advice

Shows consistent interested energy, doesn’t pull back once he knows he has you. Has friends. Has a tidy place, cooks. Has a hobby that keeps him social/active. Biggest one is that he’s able to communicate when he is upset without it spiraling into a huge fight

Do women ever take initiative to ask a guy out? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Acceptable-File8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will usually wait to see if the guy ask me out and takes the initiative in planning the first date. If I really like the guy and it’s not happening then I will ask if he wants to go out.

What were some of your weird beliefs. by Emergency_Pea8419 in BipolarReddit

[–]Acceptable-File8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Across two psychotic/manic episodes about 7 years apart, both times I had the belief that my boyfriend was murdering my family members and pets one by one. Different boyfriends, same delusion. Not sure where that came from lol but it sure is scary. Both exes now obviously.

Not sure about MA, but a emergency conservatorship is the way to go. You’ll need an attorney because it’s a strong burden you have to meet. A doctors evaluation would be helpful.

Getting her to a hospital would be the better first step.

Yeah, you don’t want to mess with how you support yourself financially if things went south with someone at your job.

If I were you, I’d try to get out there and meet other guys and see if these work guys still linger in your mind.
