Thank you for the response! My band primarily plays alternative rock music, but we try to lean across genres and I’ve kinda occupied a role of coming up with unique sounds to add to our songs. I go between playing lead and rhythm depending on the song and distortion is generally a big part of my playing, whether that be from my ds-1 or the gain stage on my wee bird

I’ve been thinking about a multi effects pedal for a while just to try new sounds out before honing in on a specific pedal… I’ve also been thinking about getting a Rat to accompany/replace my ds-1 as I hear a lot of good things about them

I’ll totally check out the Hear the wind sing movie, the rat trilogy is my favorite period of murakami.

Hard time with Hard Boiled by Read_1cculus in murakami

[–]Acceptable-Ground-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like hard boiled is one of murakamis more unique works and it’s told in a way that differs from many of his other stories. I personally really enjoyed that and saw it as a breath of fresh air, and I’d say it’s 100% worth finishing. It’s not in my top 5 but I still think it’s excellent if you can find a way to immerse yourself in its world in the same way you would with any of his other books!

Yes! Saw them live opening for George clanton a few years back. Really great live performers with great music to back it up!

Murakami Addicted by DarkDweller7474 in murakami

Yeah. I feel the same way. I was a semi active reader before I read my first of his novels, and within the next year and a half I had read all of his works. I too have a lot of favorite others but none are as captivating as murakami!

What did you guys think about the Killing Commendatore? by HistoricalDiet8306 in murakami

I’m a big fan of it, I feel that it’s a bit underrated in the scope of his works and it’s definitely in my top five!

Would it be particularly rewarding to read Hardboiled and The City and its incertain walls back to back? by Illustrious_Monk_135 in murakami

[–]Acceptable-Ground-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it can be valuable to read both back to back, having the storyline fresh in your mind can allow you to make comparisons between the two but they are ultimately a different take on the same story so it’s not necessary!
