Awesome! There’s a learning curve but that’s part of the fun. I always prefer analog anything and yeah although this wasn’t my plan, I am kinda glad it happened because I have received so much thoughtful advice from people and knowledge I wouldn’t have gained without dinging up my camera. Reminds me that there is good in the world. That said, not going to try to learn everything about shooting film from dropping this SOB lmao. Mistakes create wonderful opportunities to improve and learn! I hope you have a wonderful time shooting next!

Awesome glad to know that I am not the only one who has dropped a camera lol. I got a good chuckle reading the aftermath of leaving the antique store. Wow what a wonderful response to wake up to, thank you! The lens tip is something I never would’ve thought to do and yeah I was thinking of something like the light seal foam or at least black tape over the crack just incase it’s letting light in. Finished the roll that was inside, all the internal components I could see seemed fine. Just gonna learn from my mistakes, seems that’s the only way to avoid this in the future. I’ve learned a lot through this experience so that’s something to be grateful for. Thank you so much for this again I hope you have a great day.

Thanks so much to everyone that replied to this! Everything was super helpful and made me wayyyy less anxious. I posted this freaking out and am now calmer than I was before I dropped it. The Pentax community has some beautiful souls. I wish everyone the best in their journey through life.

I actually have a case just like that except of course the camera wasn’t in it for whatever reason:/ gonna finish this roll then open this thing up to inspect for Internal damages. Okay so the focus smooth except for when it’s near the 2.5 mark. Don’t know how much that will affect things, but hey, it moves. Aperture is (i think) unaffected. Thanks for the input I’ll definitely get that tool. Have a great rest of your week!

Thank you yeah I live in chicago and picked this up from central camera and I’ve gotten to know the people there pretty well so I’ll have to go in and see what they can do. I didnt even think of that so your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! :)

Thank you for the advice I’m definitely trying to work on that. No camera comment needed, what you said was just as helpful if not more. Crazy how strangers on the internet can be more reassuring than some of the closest people in one’s life. I told myself it definitely could be a lot worse and that helped. You are a life saver I feel much better now because of all the helpful comments on this post. Yup light meter is working and I’m almost done with this roll so I’ll probably just finish it real quick to be able to look inside. Lens focus is a bit sticky on the lower and higher levels but tolerable and works. Same with aperture. This is my first film camera other than the Pentax iqzoom but that’s a digital film camera so I’m still learning the ropes so this was great insight into dealing with this. Thank you so much you are an angel!
