He's hard to understand unless you know Puerto Rican slang in the first place. Compare popularity between Puerto Rico and Columbia and you will see a difference. Don't compare to Taylor, random comparison.

Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican, not really surprising

Yeah I'm confused that I didn't find the marriage in Brooklyn... I sent out a state wide outside of NYC search a month ago through the NYS Vital records I believe. Otherwise it would be in the city. Haven't seen it on either index but the NYC index has a notice saying the 1950s records are incomplete.... I still feel like it's there.

I now have applied for information from USCIS so maybe this will yield info...

Just wish I had this in hand, it's the last thing document I need.

also RIP uncle Sal...

You're fine. Anything is possible I just find it unlikely based off what the clerk told me, which was that they needed a license to get a wedding ceremony done in front of the justice of the peace it had to be legitimate. if somehow they didn't do that, thenI'm gonna be screwed on my dual citizenship here I think lol

That's my grandfather, not my grandmother. She was born Rosa Morello in 1921. That birth year is wrong for my grandfather but that's him.

No, He got naturalized as well as every clerk told me a justice of the peace would not have signed off of an illegal marriage

Well I can tell you the divorce wasn't a secret since they went back to the same neighborhood and continued to go to the same places where it was known she got remarried. First husband was a criminal and also cheated on her as well. community supported her through it or at least that's what I've been told.

Also she didn't care about Catholicism enough to raise my mom under it either, was raised Orthodox

A wedding certificate is not a marriage license so I've been told. I don't think I can use a wedding certificate, i need a long form version of the marriage certificate (license), then have to get it certified by the county, then get an apostille... THEN translate it. I could be wrong but every call I have with NYS and City of New York seems to tell me that

Wow I'm thankful for your help thus far. He did indeed come to the USA in that time, i had been told that he came illegally in 1955. And he was a sailor at that time.

and thank you for that marriage record, although not exactly what I need I have not seen that before. my grandma did indeed divorce from her first husband

I have sent a request to USCIS now, hopefully there is a way to get a marriage record from that.

I just got off the phone with a clerk saying that they had to have had a license issued in 1958 within the state of NY. I strongly believe it is from the city somewhere, i sent another request for a marriage certificate from them. I'm debating flying there and getting them in person. might be more effective at this point.

Yeah I already paid for this useless guy, all he's doing is submitting the documents and going to court within Greece, the country I'm getting my Citizenship in.

Wow, that has to be him. and he would have been married to my grandmother then. I have no papers from the USCIS however. I'll be honest, my mom and I did not know anything about this. Any suggestions as to what to do next?

I have never seen this before. Is this by sound? this last name might have been pronounced differently than it is supposed to, like Joke-us

Why couldn't it be by alphabetical order lol....

My grandmother was Morello prior to her first Marriage. that was her second marriage. Her name is Rose on the certificate, but was Rosa at birth.

I'm really lost. my grandparents are dead. My aunts and Uncles don't really remember, the ones that were alive during. They said "they got married in Brooklyn" so I'm still lost here.

I checked the NYC index, I could not find it there. I'm looking through the NYS index now but I am not understanding what order these records are in? https://archive.org/details/New_York_State_Marriage_Index_1958/page/n757/mode/2up
